Our Story
Our History
Broboti was born in 2019, sparked by two determined students who dreamed of building robots — even though they knew it would not help their medical school applications.
What started as pure passion grew into something much larger. Through the pandemic, through school closures, through every obstacle — the team never stopped.
Through teamwork and innovation, the team continuously develops efficient technical solutions and improves competitive performance.
From two students with a dream and no robotics experience to a nationally recognized team competing on an international stage — seven seasons have shaped BROBOTI into far more than a robotics team. We have earned awards, crossed borders, inspired younger generations, and built a community that grows stronger with every challenge.

Our mission is rooted in generating positive change and shaping the future through innovation and collaboration. We believe robotics is more than building machines—it is about building people.
We aim to be a source of inspiration, motivating young people and the broader community to reach their full potential. Each season, we engage with people from diverse backgrounds—students, teachers, professionals, and volunteers, experienced and newcomers—bringing them together through a shared passion for robotics. We empower students to think critically, collaborate fearlessly, and solve problems that matter.
From educational projects to local events, we work to create lasting impact by promoting collaboration, creativity, and a passion for innovation. Every gear we turn, every line of code we write, and every story we tell brings us closer to inspiring the next generation of innovators.
FTC Competition
We compete in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), one of the world's largest robotics competitions for high school students. FTC challenges teams to design, build, and program robots that compete head-to-head on a dynamic playing field.
But it is about far more than winning matches — it is about gracious professionalism, innovation under pressure, and proving that young minds can engineer real solutions.
For the team, the 2025-2026 season, DECODE, is more than a competition — it is an experience of collaboration, innovation, and continuous progress.
But what defines us is not the trophies on our shelf — it is the late nights in the workshop, the failures we turned into lessons, and the people who believed in something bigger than themselves.

We are a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team from Romania. Our team combines mechanical engineering, programming, and outreach to design and build competitive robots. Together, we learn STEM skills, develop teamwork, and inspire our community.

Our Journey
Six seasons of building robots, growing as a team, and pushing our limits.
Our team was founded by a passionate student, with the support of our mentor, Dana Șuțan, at the National College "Ion C. Brătianu" in Pitești.
At the beginning, we were a small group with little experience, but we were highly motivated and eager to learn.
By the end of the season, our hard work paid off, and we earned the Innovate Award – Second Place.
The team continued to grow as we welcomed new members. This allowed us to better structure our activity and organize ourselves into three main departments: Programming, Mechanical, and PR & Marketing.
This new structure helped us become more efficient and collaborative. For the second consecutive year, we received the Innovate Award – Third Place, which confirmed that we were moving in the right direction.
During this season, we continued recruiting and focused on becoming more organized as a team.
We also began participating in several public events, which helped us gain more visibility and connect with the community. This was an important step in shaping our identity beyond the competition field.
This season marked significant growth for our team, both technically and organizationally.
We attracted new mentors who supported us greatly, especially in the PR & Marketing department, helping us better understand the importance of communication and outreach.
This was a season of deep community involvement. We built a strong social media presence, made several media appearances, and connected with a wider audience than ever before.
We also launched "Exploring Robotics with Broboti," a STEM education initiative designed to inspire younger students and share our passion for robotics.
Our biggest and most rewarding season yet.
At the Regional stage, we earned the Motivate Award – First Place and were part of the Finalist Alliance. At the National stage, we received the Design Award – Third Place.
The highlight was competing at the Maryland Tech Invitational in the USA – our first international experience.
Our current season is already off to a strong start. At the Regional stage, we earned the Think Award – First Place.
Now, we are preparing for the National Stage – with seven seasons of experience behind us, we are more determined than ever.
