Dictation runs on your Mac and never goes online. Documents and recordings are local files with no cloud copy. Talking or typing to Koi sends your words to the AI, with what Koi remembers about you and a picture of your screen unless you turn that off. A recording's transcript goes only if you say yes to a summary. Our server keeps your email, your plan and what each answer cost. With “Keep my questions for 30 days” on, as it is to begin with, it also keeps your questions and Koi's answers for 30 days, cleaned of names and contact details and not linked to your account. Never your voice or your screen.

No. Koi looks only during a call or a typed question, never in between. In Settings, under Talk to Koi, “Show Koi my screen” picks when: with every question, only when you ask, or never.

No. Koi hears you only during a call, from when you start it until it ends. Dictation listens only after you tap its keys, a recording only once you start one, and the teleprompter, when it follows your voice, only while it reads, on your Mac. Koi's dock shows red sound bars whenever dictation, a call or a recording has the microphone.

Answer questions about what's on your screen, circle the button to press, draw a diagram, fix or rewrite selected text, open apps and click for you, make documents, flashcards and study notes, add things to your calendar and tracker, and record and summarize your calls.

Any app you can type in: Slack, Mail, Notion, Google Docs, a browser, a code editor. Dictation types where your cursor is, and Koi sees whatever is on your screen. Recording works with Zoom, Meet, Teams and any other call app.
