David C. Drake
Welcome, friend, to the humble Patreon page of David C. Drake: writer, programmer, game designer, and Linux enthusiast. My creative work is focused on three things: Developing multi-platform games, in a Linux environment, as founder and lead game designer/programmer of Golden Drake Studios (GDS). Progress has been slow due to constraints on my schedule and finances, but with your support I can devote more time to these efforts and finally complete GDS's first major release: the fantasy action-RPG Adventures Unending! Creating videos for the GDS YouTube channel along with my two personal YouTube channels—one in English, one in Mandarin Chinese (大衛追客)—on such topics as gaming, game design, Linux, computer science, philosophy, current events, world history, Chinese language and culture, and humanity's future. I have lots of content in the works and more planned for the future for each of these channels! Updating and improving Golden Drake Linux (GDL), a custom Arch Linux installer for gamers and game developers. As a patron, you will receive the following benefits in those three areas: Access to enhanced GDS Discord roles, early access to demos, inclusion of your name/nickname in the credits of each game you help support, opportunities to influence game design choices or even contribute content, and a free copy of every GDS game released during your patronage! Authority to request new video topics and add your name/nickname to the end of my videos. At higher tiers, you can also request that I promote or advertise something for you. Opportunities to influence future versions of the GDL Arch installer and get occasional answers, here or on Discord, to questions you have about GDL, Linux, shell scripting, programming, game dev, and the wonderful world of free and open source software. Whatever amount you're able and willing to contribute to my creative efforts, you have my undying gratitude. Thank you for your time and consideration and please reach out if you have any questions or would like to contribute your artistic, musical, or technical talents to one of my projects!
