Amazon MGM Studios announced a new Stargate adaptation from franchise veteran Martin Gero.

Amazon MGM greenlit a new Stargate series. Amazon has now stopped production on the Martin Gero-led series before filming. If the gate is going to reopen, Amazon needs to see respectful, visible demand from fans and new viewers.

News released that Jac Schaeffer has been tasked by Amazon to develop a new series. Reports also say that it will be within the exisiting canon.
Whats next?
While this may not be the outcome many of us hoped for, we’re encouraged by reports that the new series will remain within the established Stargate universe. As a community, we should keep urging Amazon to honor the canon and the heart of Stargate.
To those who fear the series will be disappointing or believe Amazon should stop production: we hear you. Many of us share concerns about its direction. At this point, though, there doesn’t seem to be a path back to a Martin Gero–led series, and Amazon is unlikely to stop producing Stargate altogether. That’s why we should continue sharing constructive feedback and asking Amazon to respect the canon and preserve what makes Stargate Stargate

The goal is not noise for noise's sake. The goal is to show Amazon MGM that Stargate has a ready audience, a welcoming entry point for new viewers, and a fanbase that will show up on day one.
