Modern data stack tools
In the last lesson, we talked about a specific subset of modern data stack tools, but there are so many that are out there. You've likely seen logo charts like this out on the internet, and I'm sure you'd agree, they're pretty overwhelming. So at this point, a question you might have is, how am I expected to learn all this? And my response would be, you aren't. There are many tools out there for each step of the data pipeline or the workflow, and you don't have to know them all. Instead, as a beginner, I would recommend focusing on one tool at each step of the workflow. So for example, data ingestion. The tool we're going to be focusing on is Fivetran. Once you understand how Fivetran works, all the other tools work in a similar way. Then for warehousing, we're going to be focusing on Snowflake. Of course, there are alternatives out there as well.
