Cerence AI

Project Summary

In 2025, PINT helped Cerence AI redesign its website with the goal of making targeted usability improvements and applying updated branding across the entire website, including a revamped website architecture. PINT’s UX Designer and Creative Director worked with Cerence AI through an iterative design process to achieve these outcomes. The website also received a technical update by moving from the Drupal content management system (CMS) to Statamic CMS and a new hosting environment. This update streamlined their content operations, reduced system complexity, and improved performance. The move to Statamic provided a more flexible, flat-file architecture, simplifying deployment workflows and eliminating database dependencies, while offering editors a faster, more intuitive publishing experience.

Challenge

Some of the primary challenges of this project were:

  • Revise the website’s design and aesthetics to align with the company’s updated branding
  • Enhance and optimize the website’s navigation system
  • Segment the website’s investor relations (IR) content from the rest of the content, preparing for a transition away from the site being fully hosted on the previous IR vendor’s environment
  • Automatically fetch and display new press releases from the IR website on the main site while also allowing manual entries to be shown in the same location/lists
  • Facilitate the maintenance and updating of multi-language content for the Cerence AI team

Solution

The first step was to implement the new branding and user interface ideas into the website. PINT’s team created new designs to adapt the new branding to the web, while ensuring that it was both user-friendly and accessible. The next step was designing solutions for some of the many different interactions users would have with the content, such as menus, testimonials, and use cases, to make sure the site experience was optimal across platforms and devices.

Statamic was used as the content management system for the main site. Aside from its default appeal as a modern, bloat-free platform, it also features native support for multi-language pages, which is a key component of the site. Statamic’s built-in tools and UI facilitates updating content for the site’s three primary languages.

PINT developed a comprehensive migration strategy that included scripting the transfer of existing content and web scraping to retrieve all necessary data from the previous Drupal installation. The team built a sophisticated custom API integration that automatically fetches the latest press releases and blog posts from the Cerence AI investor relations platform, creates new entries in the CMS, generates multi-language translations, and commits all changes directly to the git repository. Given the time-sensitive nature of press releases and their impact on financial markets, the system was designed to publish new content within minutes of being released on the investor relations platform. This automated workflow ensures seamless content syndication while maintaining version control.

To protect editorial customizations, PINT implemented intelligent content protection that prevents automated updates from overwriting manual edits made within the CMS after initial synchronization. The system includes comprehensive monitoring with automated alerts for failed API requests, successful reconnections, and new content additions. Additionally, custom cache invalidation rules automatically clear all relevant caches when new content is published, maintaining optimal site performance without requiring manual intervention from the Cerence AI team.

Results

Improved Design and Usability

The redesigned site was completed at the end of July 2025, featuring an updated look and feel, improved usability & SEO, and a focus on accessibility. Working closely with Cerence AI, we restructured the site to better organize products, highlight key industries, and feature platforms and services. The outcome is a cohesive, brand-aligned website with a clear information hierarchy, helping visitors quickly understand Cerence AI’s offerings and value as a company.

Increased Traffic and Engagement

Since the launch of the website at the end of July 2025, we have moved the analytics and tracking from Adobe Analytics to Google Analytics. Since the launch of the redesigned website, the website has seen a total of 17,262 sessions and 30,460 page views in the first 3 months, with traffic steadily increasing month over month.

Improved Content Editing

The Cerence AI stakeholders were very pleased with the enhancements to the site’s backend, particularly the ease of managing content updates. The new CMS, now built in Statamic, provides a flexible, user-friendly interface that makes organizing and updating content straightforward. Compared to the previous Drupal-based system, which was rigid and less intuitive, the new setup allows the Cerence AI team to efficiently maintain their website while taking advantage of modern content management features.

Increased Website Performance

Website performance has also improved. The results below demonstrate a significant increase in accessibility, best practices, SEO, and overall site performance, which are all important user experience metrics. With proper execution, the PINT team greatly improved the metrics across the board, reaching near perfect Lighthouse scores.
