There are other movies I may call my favorites. This is among them, but Kaufmans work here is probably the most well made, directed and written film I’ve watched. Few others have reached this level of perfection within a film.

Good things- Harrison Ford, many of the visuals, the world building and the idea behind the story.
Bad things- I started off super enthralled by the idea of this movie and the world we are introduced to. However, I quickly got bored and fell asleep through parts. Following some rest I went back and rewatched the 2nd half that I thought through first viewing I did not give a fair amount of attention to, but I found the second time I was just as bored but less tired.
This was held back from perfection in my opinion by the songs. They took scenes that got into a great flow and perfect tone, and then Pinocchio would burst into song and it all just dissolved.
Outside of the sing song scenes, this was great. I appreciate what they did here, taking a well known story and giving it a fresh new look and some added depth to the classic tale.
