What is AccelerateWP?

AccelerateWP is a component of CloudLinux that’s included with all licenses. It is an optimization suite for WordPress, combining automated caching, asset optimization, and intelligent performance recommendations.

WordPress sites are often slow out of the box. Site owners expect fast load times but many of them lack the skills to add caching and optimization properly.

For hosting providers, this creates support tickets. Customers complain about slow sites, support investigates, and the root cause is often just missing optimization basics.

Pricing

AccelerateWP Premium features are billed to the hosting provider per end user account, when:

The end user has been granted access to premium features by the server administrator.

The end user is actively using the premium feature on one or more websites. (installed manually in the hosting panel or by accepting SmartAdvice in WordPress UI)

Hosting providers can set their own retail price for premium features.

New end user activations include a 30-day trial.

Cost to hosting providers can be found in your CLN account on the “Purchase” tab within the “Billing” menu.

You are in full control of how to monetize AccelerateWP’s premium features to your end customers.

Include in all plans

Make all features available to every customer at no extra charge. Use performance as a competitive differentiator. Customers expect fast WordPress – and you deliver it automatically.

Include in premium plans only

Bundle advanced features into higher-tier hosting packages. Customers on lower plans see SmartAdvice recommendations and are prompted to upgrade their hosting plan to unlock them.

What is the difference between LS Cache and AccelerateWP?

Both LS Cache and AccelerateWP provide critical performance functions such as page caching, CDN integration, and object caching, but differ in the following ways:

Compatibility: LS Cache is designed for optimal use only with LiteSpeed web server. Many features (including object caching) will not work on other servers. In contrast, AccelerateWP is fully supported on Apache, NGINX, and LiteSpeed.
Smart Analysis: AccelerateWP includes automated analysis of issues causing performance degradation and generates advice with one-click solutions.
Upsell Capabilities: AccelerateWP empowers hosting providers to build an automated, data-driven upsell flow for premium performance features.

What is the difference between AccelerateWP and WP Rocket?

WP Rocket: A standalone performance-enhancing plugin purchased and installed by the WordPress admin (without hosting provider involvement).
AccelerateWP: A suite of utilities starting with website performance analysis. It recommends specific solutions based on data.

Many features are completely free on servers with a compatible CloudLinux OS license.
The advice engine is 100% free for hosters and end users.

Our clients run LiteSpeed Object cache; why do they need AccelerateWP?

With LiteSpeed, the hosting provider bears the cost for all users regardless of usage. AccelerateWP offers a targeted approach:
1. Cost Efficiency: Only about 8% of users genuinely need Object Caching.
2. Revenue Generation: You can upsell Object Caching only to those who need it. Users who consume resources pay for them.
3. Win-Win: Clients get enhanced performance, and hosts increase revenue without unnecessary software costs.

Which CloudLinux licenses include AccelerateWP?

Included in the following CloudLinux license tiers:

Single Account (Previously: “Solo” edition)
Up to 5 Accounts (Previously: “Admin” edition)

Not Included: CloudLinux OS Legacy (Previously: “Shared” edition)

How can I upgrade my license to include AccelerateWP?

Direct Purchase: If purchased directly from CloudLinux, upgrade the license via your CloudLinux Network (CLN) account.
Via Reseller: Confirm your reseller offers supported licenses. If yes, cancel the current license and purchase the new one through them. If not, purchase directly from the CloudLinux Network.
Via Plesk: Cancel your CloudLinux OS Legacy (Previously: “Shared” edition) license in Plesk, then purchase a supported license from the Plesk extensions marketplace.
New Users: Purchase a license directly through the CloudLinux website.

Installation & Activation

How do I activate AccelerateWP on a server?

Option 1 – Using CloudLinux Manager UI:
1. Access the CloudLinux Manager UI.
2. Navigate to the AccelerateWP tab.
3. Click the Activate button.
4. Review the Getting Started video or documentation.
Option 2 – Using Command Line Interface (CLI):

Ensure you have root access and execute the necessary commands:

How can I disable Premium features and keep just Free features running?

You can deactivate Premium features while keeping Free features active via:
1. CloudLinux Manager UI:
Deactivate AccelerateWP Premium via the UI tab.
1. Command Line Interface:
cloudlinux-awp-admin –api-version 1 set-suite –suites=accelerate_wp_premium –disallowed –users=<username>

# OR for all users:

How does AccelerateWP work for end-users?

Once activated, the experience is integrated into both the Hosting Control Panel and WordPress.

In the Hosting Control Panel (cPanel/Plesk)
- Users find an AccelerateWP icon in the tools menu.
- The interface lists websites and generated SmartAdvice recommendations.
- Users can click “Apply Advice” to implement optimizations in the background.
In the WordPress Admin Panel
- A “SmartAdvice” section appears in the dashboard.
- Clicking “Apply advice” triggers installation for core features.
- Premium Features: For features like Object Caching or Critical Path CSS, users are prompted to upgrade/purchase the subscription via the hosting provider’s billing page.
Rollback and Support

Website owners can roll back features via the hosting panel or WP admin if needed.

How do I enable AccelerateWP CDN for my users?

Prerequisite: CloudLinux – Unlimited Accounts license (Previously: “Share Pro” edition)

Configuration Options:
1. Free 1GB: Available for all users by default if enabled.
2. Set 50GB Free for all (Pay for active users only):

Integrations & Compatibility

With which panel can I use AccelerateWP?

Currently, AccelerateWP is compatible with cPanel, Plesk and avaliable for integration with custom control panel.

Is AccelerateWP compatible with LiteSpeed?

Yes, AccelerateWP is fully compatible with LiteSpeed servers, as well as with Apache and NGINX.

Can I use AccelerateWP with WProcket installed?

No, currently AccelerateWP is not compatible with WPRocket.

Is AccelerateWP compatible with WP Toolkit?

Yes, AccelerateWP has been fully tested and works correctly with WP Toolkit.

Is AccelerateWP compatible with DirectAdmin?

No. AccelerateWP is not yet compatible with DirectAdmin, though this support is on our roadmap. To be updated on our plans regarding this, please upvote this feature here.

Is AccelerateWP compatible with Plesk?

Yes, AccelerateWP is fully compatible with Plesk.

Does AccelerateWP work with CMS other than WordPress?

No, AccelerateWP currently only works with WordPress.

Billing & Pricing

What is the cost for Premium features?

You can find the pricing in your CLN account ⟶ Billing ⟶ Purchase.

What is the pricing for CDN?

CDN is free for all hosting users up to 1GB per user per month. Beyond that, premium CDN subscription plans are available for consumption. You can find the pricing for premium CDN plans in your CLN account.

How does billing work for AccelerateWP Premium?

Model: Post-consumption, per user, per month.
Trigger: You are billed for users who have one or more features in the “enabled” state.
Calculation: Not prorated. If a user is “enabled” for even 1 day in a month, the full monthly fee applies.

Is there a trial period?

Premium Features: Yes, a 30-day grace period. You are not charged for users in the “enabled” state for 30 days or less.
CDN: No grace period. The free 1GB serves as the evaluation period.

Why is the pricing model per user, not per server?

AccelerateWP premium pricing doesn’t require hosting providers to pay upfront costs. Only users who activate and install a premium feature will become billable. Hosting providers are charged the partner price after the user decides to continue with the solution and completes the 30-day trial period.

For example, only 8% of participating websites were advised to use Object Cache, while the rest could benefit from the free site optimization module. This module includes various features like SmartAdvice, Static Full-Page Cache, Browser Cache Support, Cache Logged-in Users, and LazyLoading images & iframes.

Our decision to provide Premium features was driven by our desire to enable all possible site improvements for our customers. Our strategy is not to make money from Premium edition, but rather to assist hosting providers in generating revenue through the use of our Free AccelerateWP features.

How to check how many enabled users exist?

Via GUI:

Can I estimate the AccelerateWP premium cost per server?

Yes. In the AccelerateWP tab, you can view:

Number of users who can benefit (Advice list).
Potential earnings (User count × Suggested Retail Price).
Estimated partner payment to CloudLinux.

Note: This estimate does not include CDN usage.

How do I enable upselling and billing integration via API or 3rd party billing platform?

AccelerateWP Premium allows hosting providers to integrate any billing platform, enabling the upsell process to the customers. When plans/add-ons include the appropriate AccelerateWP premium entitlement, provisioning and de-provisioning is fully automated.
