Desklings

Desklings is a cozy hidden-critter hunt on a fully physics-driven 3D desk. Every day, three critters hide somewhere in the clutter, you get one clue each to help your search but everything else is your problem.

Goal

Read the clue, dig through the desk, and spot the deskling before the clock runs out. It's small, it hides behind things, and it takes on the color of whatever it's hiding on, nothing will point it out for you. Catch all three, keep your streak alive, and fill your 15-species index.

The Daily Trio

Every day at UTC midnight, three desklings surface, shared by everyone, seeded from the date. Rarer means smaller, better camouflaged, and less time:

• Common — 120s clock. Retryable, but retries carry your total time, and the day is ranked on time. This one carries your streak.
• Rare — 90s clock. One shot a day. Lose it and it's gone until the reset.
• Legendary — 60s, tiny, near-invisible, one shot. Catching one means something because you can lose it.

The Desk & Basic rules

• ~36 props are real rigid bodies: books stack and get excavated layer by layer, mugs tip and spill, a shoved bottle skitters into its neighbours
• The deskling is hidden by genuine 3D occlusion — no outline, no shimmer, no hint
• Knock 3 things off the desk and it escapes
• Lose, and the hiding spot is revealed through the clutter
• Your exact hiding spot is rolled per-player, so the comments can't spoil you

Actions

• Drag things aside, lift piles apart, carry props anywhere (even off the edge — at your own risk)
• Tap the deskling to catch it
• Tap the lamp to turn it off — in the dark, a deskling's eyes give it away
• Six props are interactive: type on the keyboard, buzz the phone, thump the speaker…
• Caught all three? Practice hunts reshuffle the desk endlessly

• A scheduler posts a fresh hunt daily — and every post, old or new, opens today's trio, with a live countdown to the reset
• Per-species daily leaderboards ranked on time, with an honest percentile ("faster than 62% of the 40 hunters who caught today's Ember" — never a made-up number)
• Streak on your first catch of the day + a 15-species collection index only the daily trio can fill
• Dated, Wordle-style share text to drop your result in the comments
