Maybe you've thought about it before. Tech. A career shift. Going back to work. That idea you keep almost acting on but then don’t. Instead, the doubt shows up: no degree, no background, no idea where to even start.

Here's what we've learned since 2021: you don't need any of that to begin. You need curiosity, one idea, and the willingness to show up anyway.

#herHACK is Switzerland's largest female-led hackathon, where career-changing women meet the tech world, real challenges, and employers who are actually looking for them. And #herHACK will return this year, featuring a range of educational workshops, culminating with the main hackathon in September to find out that Tech is for everyone. Bring curiosity and the daredevil from within you to master the courage to try something new.

Next stop

#herHACK 20.26 is coming.

The countdown is on: secure your spot. The hardest part isn’t the hackathon or the pitch. It’s deciding to come to the event. Clicking “register” before you feel ready. But once you’ve done that, we take care of the rest: the team, the challenge, the people cheering you on as the next edition kicks off. A calming thought: Everyone in that room once thought that.

Welcome to #herHACK

Between “curious about tech” and “no idea where to start”.

That’s exactly where #herHACK begins. We don’t need you to know how to code. We need you to show up, ask questions, and refuse to be the woman in the room who stays quiet.

Since 2021, #herHACK has connected over 500 women with real tech challenges, real mentors, and real employers across Switzerland.

This year, we’re going bigger with a new pivot to our regional upskilling events. A confidence series adds some spice to the talent pipeline, straight to the companies looking to hire someone exactly like you. Ready?

Unique and female friendly

A safe and inspiring space for women in tech.

Only 16% of tech jobs are held by women, while Switzerland faces 38'700 unfilled tech positions by 2030. You do the maths to realize this is my chance and then join the hackathon.

#herHACK exists because talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn't. We create the environment where women who've never written a line of code walk out with a prototype, a team, and a clearer sense of where they're headed. No prior tech experience. No insider knowledge required. Just you, a challenge worth solving, and a room full of people cheering you on.

#herHACK inspires and empowers women and underrepresented groups to pursue a career in tech.

Unique

Upskilling

From prompt engineering to UX prototyping to confidence. Our workshops teach you skills you’ll actually use and benefit from. Before the hackathon and during it. Bring all your questions, and we’ll bring the experts.

Female+

Community

The hackathon is the main event, but mind you of the incredible community supporting it: Through TechFace's mentoring app, job-dating sessions with hiring companies, and CV profiling with 42 Zurich, your #herHACK experience becomes a career springboard.

Techy

Mindset

Tech is 20% skill and 80% believing you belong there. Our series 'Courage' from coaches who've done this across EMEA and the USA) are here for the other 80%. The participants who join are like-minded people, so you will see and enjoy a crowd of people who will create a safe space to rise.

Throwback

Highlights from past editions.

Behind every challenge at #herHACK stands a real company looking for real talent, not as a marketing gesture, but because they actually need people like you. So the companies you’re about to see aren’t just sponsors – they are partners!

Last year I was a participant, this year I am a contributing partner. What I can tell you is: participate in this hackathon, because it is quite the experience.

Fun fact
Fun fact

I've been to numerous women-in-tech events, and this was definitely one of my favourites. The atmosphere was electric — a unique, hands-on experience, especially for people with a non-tech background.

I participated at the #herHACK to experience something new, to develop new and cool ideas.
