Construction and Parking
Construction progress of the sidewalk next to the Ginsburg Center as of early June 2026.
Construction Impacts
- Frank J. Malina Laboratory for High-Speed Flight Dynamics: Construction on the south side of the Guggenheim Laboratory is ongoing.
- Ginsburg Center: Building occupancy is scheduled for fall of 2026.
- From Monday, July 6, to Monday, July 20, the Ginsburg contractor will demo the existing fire lane by the Kármán, Kellogg, and Downs-Lauritsen buildings. Access to the temporary bridge and elevator area at the back of Kármán will be blocked from access. Expect sporadically loud noises such as that of a demo saw or concrete breaker. The area will be closed for pedestrian traffic.
- South Gate Plaza: Construction in the area is in progress, and full pedestrian access will be restored by the end of July.
Parking and Traffic
- In order to accommodate restriping of the Holliston Parking Structure, portions of the garage will be closed periodically from Friday, July 10, through Friday, August 31. The work will be conducted in stages, and no more than 30 stalls will be impacted at any given time. Signage will be posted in the impacted areas 2–3 days prior to the closures. Parking in the unaffected areas will be available as usual. Contact the Parking Office at [email protected] with any questions.
- As of Monday, July 13, the Parking Office will be located at 565 Wilson Avenue. The office will be on the first floor and will be accessible via the front door of the building. Office hours remain unchanged.
- From June until mid-September, Metro's Bus Rapid Transit construction at Hill Avenue and Green Street will cause southbound and northbound lane reductions on Hill Avenue (Colorado Boulevard–Cordova Street) and eastbound reductions on Green Street. Construction runs Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, though lane closures remain in place 24/7. Please plan extra travel time or use alternate routes during this ~3-month station build. Read the full construction notice for details.
- Visitor parking at Caltech is moving to HonkMobile (HONK) over the coming weeks. New payment signs will be installed in campus lots and structures, replacing existing pay stations. For more information, visit Caltech's Mobile Payments for Visitor Parking webpage.
Pedestrian Access
- There are no new pedestrian access updates at this time.
