Yes, if you need to add new glyphs for your designs please do (although you still can't then redistribute the font file as your "own" font obviously)

Basically, is it possible to make the buy location in the analytics show a specific thing by sharing URLs with a variable added to the end?

If not, would it be possible to add a feature like this?

This looks great! Congratulations on the launch, the sounds work really well with the game :)

Sorry to bump but just to say - if your page description is long enough a download button automatically appears at the top as well as the bottom.

We're happy with a straight up font declaration to be honest, with just a CSS comment saying the font needs to be licensed by Chequered Ink or something. We added this clarifying language so that hopefully you don't have to go to any inconvenient measures to obscure the font!

Sorry for the bump, but we finally made it clear in our terms that you can do this and thought I'd let you know! https://ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pack/devlog/1578283/9-new-fonts-even-better-terms-o...

Sorry for the bump for an old comment, but we finally updated our license terms to make it clear in writing that you can bundle our fonts into your games: https://ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pack/devlog/1578283/9-new-fonts-even-better-terms-o...

Sorry for the huge bump, but we've (finally) updated our license terms to make it clearer that you can ship fonts with your games and we thought you'd like to know - details here: https://ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pack/devlog/1578283/9-new-fonts-even-better-terms-o...

Sorry for the bump, but we've updated our license terms which should make them more favourable to you! https://ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pack/devlog/1578283/9-new-fonts-even-better-terms-o...

Just to update you, with our new terms you can use the fonts in up to 20 license units: https://ci.itch.io/all-fonts-pack/devlog/1578283/9-new-fonts-even-better-terms-o...

it felt honest

gracias

Yes absolutely!

You're welcome, we hope you enjoy using it :)

If you look up each font on our fontspace account they all have a design example image there: Chequered Ink - Designer

No it means you as the developer can only install the font files (.otf or .ttf) on up to 5 PCs, Macs etc. for using in your designs.

You can make an unlimited number of end products, games, etc using the fonts.

There is a subfolder for horror fonts with 35 fonts in it, which vary between bloody and spiky looking... I wouldn't have said any looked like "slime" though.

broadly speaking that part about not replicating its function is supposed to stop people from allowing their users to use the fonts for commercial use... for example a merch website letting their customers make logos with the font for selling t-shirts, or maybe a graphic design company like Canva or Adobe allowing use of the fonts directly for their users to make designs with etc. etc.

It was never intended to stop you from doing the things you described, where the content is only visible in the game and not commercialised by the player. So in the cases you said I would say feel free to use it. We need to do a pass on the legal language at some point to clarify this stuff properly.

yes sure email us at support [at] chequered.ink with the details of your request... we are quite busy at the moment but we can assess whether your idea will take much time or not!

Some do, some don't. You can check by searching for the font on fontspace (all of our fonts are there) and set the preview text to show the characters you want like ñ or á etc.

That's strange we've never had that reported before. Can you give us more detail so we can investigate?

  • What do you mean "load in Chrome", are you trying to add them to a web page through a CSS font declaration or do you mean something else?
  • Can you give us the names of some of the fonts that failed this way so we can check the files?

Sorry you're experiencing issues with them, we'll fix it if we can!

These are the 47 pixel art fonts we have in the pack right now:

Sorry we don't have anything like that for this asset pack yet, we'll take note in future though maybe we can add a little tool to do it in an update!

Some of our fonts support more characters than others, you can see which ones support more latin characters by fiddling with the options on our dafont page here: https://www.dafont.com/chequered-ink.d6231?text=%C1%E1%C9%E9%CD%ED%D3%F3%DA%FA&a...

That would be cool but also kind of a lot of work because the source code for a lot of this stuff includes licensed materials we'd have to strip out first!

You're welcome! If you use it in your projects we'd love to see them :)

(1 edit)

We just finished adding the outlined icon variants, enjoy!

Thanks for the suggestion, we'll do that soon. I'll comment again here when we've done it!

We haven't added the font file to the pack yet, but we will at some point in future and we always say our new fonts are covered by the license of the All Fonts Pack.

Ah Card Combiner is fun! I just played it for a little while there, and I'll give it a share too. Thank you so much for dropping a comment here, we love to see the things people make with our assets :)

I'm using Affinity Designer to make them, so I have the editables for that. It does export SVG files - I haven't done that yet but I can do that in the next update!

Sorry I missed replying to this comment, The ones you shouldn't use for commercial use are the ones listed as free on our dafont page (this link should show you  23 fonts in total): https://www.dafont.com/chequered-ink.d6231?l[]=10&l[]=1

except CI Game Dev and Teeny Tiny Pixls are allowed. They're just usually free.

And not all of those fonts are in the pack anyway because we left out some of them on purpose to avoid any issues.... but just in case any of them snuck in those are the ones to watch out for.

Not all at once, however you can download them from our Fontspace profile one by one: Chequered Ink - Designer

We treat the fonts there as covered by the All Fonts Pack license if you have it, even if we haven't gotten around to adding them to the pack yet.

Not long if you know where everything is exactly. Less than 5 minutes when I'm testing it myself, but if you're exploring for the first time it probably takes longer.

Yes! We have a couple of smaller packs - the Cartoon Pack and the EveryPixel font pack, but ALL of the fonts are included in the All Fonts Pack here.

For some of the simpler ones and pixel fonts - Fontstruct, for everything else we use High Logic Font Creator :)

Unfortunately no way to see the instructions again, we'll take that on board! With the mouse if you hold left-click long enough it will mark a square as a pumpkin, but right-click would be good to add too.

Yes - all the sprites are PNG images, so they can be used in any engine that supports PNG.
