Koch is proud to support the people, places and programs helping Wichita move forward. This quarter, that work came to life in different ways across the community. At Exploration Place, Koch helped bring the new Adventure Playscape and Koch Welcome Plaza to life, giving families and students more space to learn, play and explore. Through our longtime partnership with the Kansas Hispanic Education & Development Foundation, we continued helping Hispanic first-generation college students pursue their educational goals. We also supported student entrepreneurship through the WSU Innovation Challenge and expanded access to legal resources through the Koch Pro Bono initiative. Each effort serves a different need, but they are all rooted in the same belief: communities are stronger when people have opportunities to learn, grow and connect.

At Koch, we believe in succeeding by helping others succeed. It’s not a new idea - it’s foundational to the principles that have guided our nation for 250 years, and our business for many decades. We also believe that a life of meaning is built the same way, by creating value for others. So, on America’s 250th birthday, we celebrate the freedom to contribute, create value and help others flourish.

How we operate safely matters just as much as what we achieve. Across INVISTA, safety is built into how our teams run every day, from how we manage risk to how we support one another on the ground. It’s the same mindset across our sites, no matter where we operate. That consistency is reflected in the recognition our teams have earned this year, including the Union Pacific Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Award and AFPM Elite Silver recognition at our Orange and Longview sites, along with six safety management awards in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP). Additional recognition includes the HASC Owner Safety Excellence Award and OSHA’s VPP “Star Among Stars” recognition, which was earned for the second consecutive year and only the third time in site history. These recognitions reflect more than performance; they reflect how our teams think, operate and hold each other accountable. It’s a standard our teams apply every day, across every site. #SafetyMonth

In the days following the tornado, the Enid community continues to come together. Koch Fertilizer Enid is proud to be part of those ongoing recovery efforts in the Gray Ridge area. “We know the impact of the tornado didn’t end when it passed. Recovery is about more than clearing debris, it’s about helping families take meaningful steps forward. We’re grateful to partner with the City of Enid and Marsau Enterprises to help ease the burden on those impacted. We often talk about being there for our community when it matters most, and this was an opportunity to show we truly mean that. I hope those affected see that our commitment goes beyond words. Removing foundations is just one of many ways the team has stepped up to ease the burden and help restore not just homes, but hope. We’re fortunate to be part of a resilient community like Enid,” said Darrien Carson, Plant Manager of KFE. Our support has included providing heavy equipment to assist with cleanup, donating essential supplies like PPE and cleaning materials, and providing breakfast for 75 volunteers during the relief days. The KFE teams also volunteered their time on-site and many employees have continued to step up on their own time to help neighbors recover. Since the 1960s, KOCH has been guided by the Principles of Human Progress — ideas that have quietly shaped every chapter of our growth and transformation. In this video, Vice Chairman and Co-CEO Dave Robertson shares how these principles — also explored in Becoming a Principle-Driven Leader by Charles Koch and Chase Koch — continue to drive transformation and shape KOCH today. Cody Fager started his career at INVISTA, a Koch company, as a chemical engineering intern. During his internship, Cody sat in on a process hazards analysis and saw how teams work together to evaluate risks and protect people and operations. That experience — and the supervisors who helped guide him early on — shaped the direction of his career. Since then, Cody has taken on different engineering roles including operations, pipeline design and process safety. Throughout his journey, his supervisors invested in his development, helping him identify where he could grow and guiding him into new opportunities. “My supervisors have always treated me as an individual. They’ve helped me find the roles I wanted to be in and supported my growth along the way.” Today, Cody is a Process Safety Supervisor at Koch Capabilities, bringing that same approach to supervising and developing others as he helps teams manage risk and support safe, reliable operations. Cody’s career is one example of how employees are supported as they grow at Koch. If you’re looking for a place where you can keep learning and take on new challenges with that support, explore our open roles: https://www.utm.io/uqfIX

Children and young people with criminal records can face barriers that limit their ability to fully participate in their communities. That’s why more than 100 volunteers from Koch and Baker McKenzie — both lawyers and non-lawyers — came together across London, Atlanta, Lisle, St. Paul, and Wichita for our second Justice in Action Pro Bono Sprint this year. Participants formed teams to research the rights of these individuals and the barriers they face when they or their families lack the necessary resources or the ability to advocate appropriately — documenting their findings and advancing a global assessment to help expunge criminal records. These efforts reflect the impact of Koch’s Pro Bono Initiative — applying our capabilities to help others overcome challenges and reach their potential.
