Action Required: Xaya Migration — CHI to WCHI

CHI → WCHI: a trustless, one-to-one migration (what to do & why)

We’re migrating the legacy CHI on Xaya Core to WCHI (ERC-20) on Ethereum/Polygon via a trustless, self-serve claim. This puts Xaya where users, wallets, and liquidity already live — without changing your balances: 1 CHI = 1 WCHI. (link here > Xaya)

Snapshot & timeline

Snapshot height: Xaya Core block 7,300,000. After this, Xaya Core is no longer officially supported, and balances at that block become claimable as WCHI. (ETA late Oct 2025.)

Before the snapshot, please:

Self-custody your CHI (wallet where you control the key).

Consolidate to one address (on output) to make claiming cheaper and simpler.

Have an EVM wallet (e.g., MetaMask) ready to receive WCHI.

How the trustless claim works (in plain English)

We take a UTXO snapshot of Xaya Core at the end block, exclude provable burns, and commit the set into a Merkle tree. The Merkle root funds a distributor contract on Ethereum.

Normal addresses (P2PKH/P2WPKH) can claim autonomously by signing a message with the same private key that controls the snapshot output, proving ownership to the contract—no trusted third party required.

Scripted outputs (e.g., multisig / P2SH D…, custom scripts) aren’t easily claimable on-chain via a simple signature. For these, the team multisig can process manual claims after you prove control (e.g., by a valid signed dummy spend). A small fee and KYC/AML may apply to prevent abuse and lost funds.

Where the WCHI comes from

Before the snapshot, the manual bridge stops. CHI sitting in the Xaya-side bridge multisig is provably burned. The matching WCHI reserve in the Ethereum-side bridge address funds the distributor; the excess (such as unmined coins) is kept as community reserve and may be used e.g. to incentivise LP or for staking rewards in the future

A quick apology — and what’s next

We published “Xaya: Past, Present & Future — Part 1” and owe you Part 2 — sorry for the delay. We’ve been head-down on Soccerverse, which is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious crypto games around.

Xaya: Past, Present and Future — Part 1

It’s been a while since we last posted a blog. The team has been hard at work improving the Xaya SDK along with Xaya based Soccerverse https://soccerverse.com .

If you’ve never heard about Xaya before, here is a quick TLDR:

Xaya is a SDK and platform that uses blockchain technology to host fully decentralised games and autonomous worlds. It is completely open source and free to use.

Although Xaya has its own blockchain, i.e. Xaya Core, the Xaya SDK is blockchain agnostic so it’s compatible with EVM chains and (with small modifications) almost every other blockchain as well. We’ll explain more about the SDK later, and how Soccerverse runs on Polygon.

As for why decentralised games (otherwise known as autonomous worlds, on-chain games, FOCG and probably a new one after we’ve finished this series of blogs), you can refer to one of our earlier blog posts titled “Why Decentralised Gaming?”.

This is Part 1 of 4 blogs we’ll be releasing over the next couple of months.

Let’s first go over some history and how we got to where we are today.

Xaya’s History

Let’s first start with Xaya Core.

Xaya Core is a PoW (proof of work) blockchain which is a fork of Namecoin, the first blockchain after Bitcoin, aka the first “altcoin”. Namecoin enables the creation of unique identities or names.

FUN FACT: Namecoin names are the first NFTs, with “d/bitcoin” being the world’s first NFT created on April 21st, 2011 (at least as we know of them).

https://namebrow.se/name/d/bitcoin/ (tx here).

Xaya Core has its own coin called CHI, which is used to pay for transaction fees and is also available on EVM chains in its wrapped version (wCHI).

You can read the Xaya Core specs in its GitHub repository here:

https://github.com/xaya/xaya/tree/master/doc/xaya

Xaya was conceived in mid 2016 and launched in July 2018 at a time when blockchain gaming was mostly unheard of. It wasn’t until “Cryptokitties” in November of 2017 that people started to take blockchain gaming seriously.

However, Xaya’s history goes back further than that. The initial idea of decentralised gaming using blockchain technology dates back to 2013 when Xaya co-founder “snailbrain” posted the concept in the Bitcointalk forums here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262599.0

Along with members of the Namecoin community, such as “domob” (Chief Namecoin Scientist and Lead Xaya Developer) and “thecoder” (RIP) they developed a blockchain gaming proof of concept called “Huntercoin”.

Huntercoin: The 1st blockchain game (2013)

Huntercoin is the first blockchain game, and the first fully decentralised blockchain game.

Huntercoin was conceptualised to embrace the core principles that Bitcoin brought to the world:

Decentralised

Permissionless

Censorship Resistant

Transparent

Secure

Trustless

Serverless

Irreversible and immutable

Anonymous/pseudo-anonymous

Limited and scarce

You can see an old basic video of Huntercoin in action here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q41RW6bxpM4

Huntercoin brought many new features and world firsts to Bitcoin type blockchains:

On-chain Gaming (and blockchain gaming in general).

Complex blockchain logic (similar to smart contracts)

Dual merge-mineable algorithms.

The first dual PoW algo chain (used in countless other chains afterwards).

Dual algorithm merged mining (could be merge mined with Bitcoin and Litecoin)

You can see the initial discussion on merge mining and Bitdns (which became Namecoin) in the Bitcoin Talk forums. It was conceived by Satoshi and it’s one of his last posts before he vanished. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1790.msg28696#msg28696

In Huntercoin, all nodes compute the state of the game world, which includes miners, people running the Huntercoin wallet and Huntercoin players. This achieves consensus and verifies Huntercoin transactions (game actions and normal coin transfers).

In Huntercoin you create characters, which in Namecoin (and Xaya) terminology are called “names”, by spending 1 HUC, the in-game cryptocurrency. This 1 HUC is then locked into what is now called an “NFT”. This allows players to use human readable names rather than wallet addresses for their accounts. They can also be traded securely, directly.

As only the character (aka name) owner has the private key, only they can make moves in the game, which are then stored in the blockchain ledger forever. This feature is one of many benefits that Huntercoin inherits from being built upon the Namecoin project.

All on-chain type games follow this in some sort of way. In Namecoin which was initially created for storing decentralised censorship resistant Domain Name Systems (DNS) names, when you create a “name”, you can also assign values to it, such as the “hosting IP address”.

In Huntercoin these values are in-game actions, such as “move to x:y”.

All moves/actions from the very first genesis block up to the current block are fed into the game’s logic to compute the current game state.

You can see some historical information about Huntercoin here:

https://xaya.io/huntercoin-legacy

Although Huntercoin was (“is” if you start mining now) primarily an experimental fully decentralised game, it was also a demonstration of another way to distribute cryptocurrencies through human actions and gameplay as opposed to requiring expensive mining hardware. This was termed “human mining”.

Huntercoin was a proof of concept, as such it was officially only planned to be supported for 1 year. However, the community and the Xaya team supported it for much longer despite having no significant premine (0.01% of the supply?) and no other financial incentives, or funding. A snapshot of the Huntercoin balances was taken and they were used to receive a portion of the initial Xaya coin allocation (in the next part). As the years passed, the team eventually stopped development, the exchanges delisted HUC and miners slowly diminished and eventually stopped mining.

With its relatively simple game mechanics, it was expected that Huntercoin would be botted. However what wasn’t expected was that the game (the Huntercoin blockchain) would take off as fast as it did.

Shortly after launch there were thousands of players playing (human mining) the game earning in excess of $10k a day at a time when Bitcoin was trading between $500 and $600 USD.

This accelerated the incentives for people to employ bots.

Initially there was 1 bot, known as “The Dominator” (BGB on Bitcointalk). This player began dominating the game with pure numbers and simple scripts to move thousands of Hunters around the map, collecting coins, and then returning home to “bank” them. In order to truly claim and own HUC, players had to return to their home base to secure their coins by “banking” them, which cashed out their coins from inside the game to inside their wallets. Prior to banking coins, other players could kill you and steal your coins.

As time progressed, more bots appeared, turning Huntercoin into an arena for lucrative “bot wars”.

After some quick-fix changes to increase the PvP aspect of the game, and the cost to play (which also increased the rewards for killing other hunters), the bot to human ratio was massively reduced. However, human ingenuity and greed are near boundless, and so the bots were improved and evolved to also dominate in combat. But it didn’t stop there. Over time they were constantly improved with advanced features such as watching the memory pool (mempool) to spy on their opponents next moves, and increasing their transaction fees to prioritise their moves over human players and other bot opponents.

This didn’t come as a surprise, but it was still cool to see it.

Some important points we learned (or were obvious anyway) with Huntercoin :

Scaling

One complex game is the limit.

The more complex the game the longer it takes nodes to compute the state (pretty obvious). Running multiple complex games on one blockchain will be too expensive.

Slow input to the game

Slow blocks

TX fees

Needed to prevent spam

Human Behaviour

If there is a way to make money, humans will find a way, and any flaws will be exploited. For example with bots.

F2P (or very cheap to play) + the ability to make $$ doesn’t really work for almost all games.

Simple and transparent gameplay makes it easy for bots.

PvP + Social Dynamics work best.

From 2015+ we started discussing solutions for the scaling issues, one of which was game channels.

Game Channels

Written by lead developer Dr. Daniel Kraft (domob) and originally released on bitcointalk (2015) and later published in a peer reviewed scientific journal titled “Game channels —trustless real-time decentralised gaming”. Game Channels work similar to the later “state channels” on Ethereum.

Although at this point we didn’t have a working implementation, the theory was sound and Game Channels was peer reviewed and accepted:

In a nutshell Game Channels works as follows:

A player submits an on-chain transaction which is in words — that the player would like to open a channel.

The opponent then submits a transaction and which in words is — they’d like to join that channel.

At this point the users can then directly to each other (or through a relay) play head to head.

This is done by signing moves back and forth, and in some cases (depending on the game) send the state back and forth.

Whatever the rules of the game are, each of the players computes the state of the game themselves and thus also validates the opponents move.

By doing this, the players can play a real-time session, prove if the opponent tried to cheat (as all moves are signed) and ultimately prove who won.

When a user wins they can post on-chain the winning move or the state of the game.

Initially this was designed for a game/chain like Huntercoin in which all the nodes know the logic of the game and can validate the winning move.

Over time Game Channels have evolved, and many ideas and solutions to improve them and their limitations have been discussed and written about.

More information about this in some previous blogs — Game Channels and Ephemeral Time Stamps

Game Channels provide an initial vertical scalability solution for trustless real-time decentralised gaming.

Game State Processors (GSPs)

Huntercoin is one game on one chain. All nodes on the network compute the state of the game world. This works great if there is one game on the blockchain, but what if there are multiple?

Huntercoin was not a complex game on modern standards, however, computing the state still requires some computation. With over 50,000 Hunters moving around the map it would take a second or 5 to compute the state of the game (along with processing / validating transactions). As the blocktimes of Huntercoin were targeted at 1 minute this wasn’t a big issue.

But what if there were more than one game on the chain.

In 2016 we started designing a system which would allow for horizontal scalability and this would be later known as Game State Processors (GSPs).

How GSPs work:

In the example of Huntercoin, where every move is stored on-chain and all nodes calculate the state of the game, we realised that, in reality, there is no real need for all nodes to compute the state of the game.

As long as all moves are signed and stored on-chain by the user’s account, the computation and game logic can be completely detached from the blockchain itself.

As long as users or those wanting to compute the state of the game are using the same “logic” which produces deterministic results based on the moves on the blockchain, then we still have a decentralised game that follows all the principles and features which Bitcoin brought to the world.

Any moves which are invalid can still be submitted on chain, but the GSP will ignore those that are invalid.

By doing this, blockchain nodes don’t need to compute the state of any of the games and only need to deal with the normal coin transactions. This allows for many games on 1 chain.

The GSP can store the state in whatever the developer wishes, such as sqlite/mysql. The state could potentially be GBs in size or more depending on the game. It may also store historical data as well.

GSPs are similar to roll-ups and we have written a blog on how this works in more detail here:

https://xaya.medium.com/xaya-and-rollups-1b5eeba44921

With GSPs and Game Channels combined — you can imagine the types of games that could be built. For example, A Total War game where the world map is slow and strategic and then the real-time combat uses game channels, and the outcome of the combat affects the world map.

And that is the core of how Xaya (and it’s tools) work.

The length of this blog is exceeding what was intended so we’ll cut it here instead of making it too long to read (already is).

The Next Parts:

Part 2 Xaya ICO, Taurion, Soccer Manager Crypto, Xaya Ships, XID, WCHI and Democrit.
Part 3 Present, an in depth look at Soccerverse and the tech behind it (will be a big one), Taurion, CHI/WCHI
Part 4 Roadmap.

Expect the next part in a couple of weeks (or less).

Follow us on Twitter : https://x.com/XAYA_tech or join our discord to get real time updates.

Over the next little while we’ll be letting you know some tips and tricks to help you in Treat Fighter to dominate in Canedoom. Here’s tip #1!

As an Overlord looking to dominate in Canedoom, you’re going to need a LOT of candies! All kinds of candies. Expeditions are the best place to get them.

Higher level Expeditions give out better quality candies, as well as lower level candies, so make sure to send your highest level treats on Expeditions. You’ll need to stockpile those candies for when you get better quality recipes to cook.

In the meantime, you can keep sending your lower level Treats into the Colosseum to fight, gain experience, level up, and win more recipes.

Visit https://xaya.io/treatfighter to download Treat Fighter and get started today. Early birds will receive extra CHI in the free starter pack prior to the official release on June 14th.

Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming?

Visit https://xaya.io

Join the conversation:

https://twitter.com/XAYA_tech
https://www.facebook.com/XAYAtech/
https://discord.gg/r4BdtNQCNV

Find out more about the Xaya platform and its components:

Xaya GitHub
Tutorials & Documentation
XID
Game Channels
Game Channels demo (2)
Ephemeral Timestamps

Games:
https://soccerverse.io/
https://xaya.io/treatfighter

Games, digital sports and technology venture capital fund Hiro Capital recently announced their investment in Soccerverse Ltd, the company that produces the massively multiplayer online football management game Soccerverse. The pairing of Hiro Capital and Soccerverse Ltd is ideal as the goals and visions of the two companies are well aligned.

Hiro Capital aims to make the world a better place by investing in and fostering both digital and physical games and sports companies that bring new, positive technological innovations to the market. Hiro was founded in 2019; its partners are Luke Alvarez, Cherry Freeman, Sir Ian Livingstone, and Spike Laurie. Hiro’s staff roster is a veritable A-Team of some of the most experienced experts in the gaming and sports technology space.

Soccerverse fits into the Hiro vision for positive games that are a force for good in society. The Soccerverse team has focused on merging the worlds of online gaming with blockchain technology and the many benefits that blockchain brings with it.

This new investment in Soccerverse will help propel the game into the limelight of both football/soccer management simulation games and blockchain games. Funds will help facilitate further and faster game development, and improve gameplay extraordinarily.

Soccerverse is a football management simulator built using the Xaya blockchain SDK which allows for the game to be fully decentralised (on-chain) whilst having complex game mechanics that are not possible with current technologies. Where traditional games rely on centralised servers controlled entirely by game developers or publishers, Soccerverse takes advantage of the many benefits of blockchain technology to deliver true ownership, transparency, and real value to the people that play the game.

Of particular note on the Soccerverse team are Andy Gore, Andrew Colosimo, and Daniel Kraft, each of whom are pioneers in their respective expertise.

Andy Gore is the former CEO of Soccer Manager Ltd and current non-executive director at Invincibles Studio. Andy has over 20 years in the video game industry and co-founded Invincibles Studio with his brothers, Chris and Steven Gore, in 2004. Together they assembled a team to develop the Soccer Manager franchise of games with 10s of millions of players. Today he devotes the majority of his time to Soccerverse.

Andrew Colosimo (snailbrain) had 20 years of experience in computers and technology before creating the world’s first true blockchain game played entirely on-chain, Huntercoin. This was a game changer (pun not intended) for blockchain and games. Huntercoin was a code fork (not a blockchain fork) of Bitcoin and Namecoin, which Andrew has been contributing to since 2013. Andrew is the primary founder of Xaya.

Doctor of mathematics, Daniel Kraft (domob) has been the Chief Namecoin Scientist since 2014 and is a former Google engineering scientist. To name just one of his other accomplishments, he created NameID (the first blockchain digital identity platform). He is a co-founder of the Xaya blockchain gaming platform and the brilliant mind behind the many innovations in it, such as the Game Channels technology (developed in parallel but separately from Bitcoin 2nd layer payment channels and Lightning), Ephemeral Timestamps, and others. He is also a regular contributor to the Bitcoin Core codebase.

Soccerverse is powered by the Xaya blockchain gaming platform and runs on the Polygon network. It is currently in beta and with this additional investment, the full release has been pushed to Q3 so that it can be expanded upon as originally envisioned. Users will be able to play the game entirely unaware that it’s a fully on-chain true blockchain game.

As Soccerverse is decentralised like Bitcoin, it runs unstoppably and is censorship resistant. Further, each club and player in the game is a fractionalised, unique in-game asset that users can own part or all of through buying shares. Going even deeper, each club and player is a DAO (decentralised autonomous organisation) where club and player shareholders vote on the future of their clubs and players. Shares in clubs and players share (pun intended) the same cryptographic security that blockchain offers, and thus users have true ownership that nobody can deny or take away.

Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming?

Visit https://xaya.io

Join the conversation:

https://twitter.com/XAYA_tech
https://www.facebook.com/XAYAtech/
https://discord.gg/r4BdtNQCNV

Find out more about the Xaya platform and its components:

Xaya GitHub
Tutorials & Documentation
XID
Game Channels
Game Channels demo (2)
Ephemeral Timestamps

Games:

https://soccerverse.io/

Soccer Manager Elite has now officially been rebranded as Soccerverse and will be developed by a new entity, Soccerverse Ltd, fully dedicated to driving the project forward. The brand is a better reflection of how the game has evolved and will continue to evolve in the future.

At its inception, “Soccer Manager Crypto” very quickly changed its name to “Soccer Manager Elite” prior to its first announcement. However, as the development and planning progressed, SME evolved into much more than just a football management game.

In order to make the game more fun, immersive and accessible to soccer fans and crypto enthusiasts alike, we have increased the scope and depth of this cutting edge football management simulator.

Each club and player is a fractionalized NFT and DAO. Shareholders who own shares in clubs or players will be able to propose club managers and player agents, and then vote on who they wish to fill the position in order to maximize profits using cryptographically secure methods.

This will all be happening in one massive, persistent multiplayer game world — “The Elite Championship”, with an in-depth economy where hundreds of clubs compete against each other in leagues, shields and cups at set times every week.

Blockchain technology enables this remake of a battle proven MMO to run in a persistent, decentralized and autonomous universe like never before seen on Earth.

More than just a new name for the game, Soccerverse adds a new name to the team:

Andy Gore is a founder and the former CEO of Soccer Manager Ltd and has joined the Soccerverse team to help drive it forward. He has over 20 years of experience in video game development and football management games, such as FIFA, Need for Speed, Soccer Manager Worlds, the Soccer Manager series, and many others. While he remains a non-executive director at Soccer Manager Ltd (now rebranded as “Invincibles Studio”), the vast majority of his time is now spent on developing the Soccerverse.

This news coincides with the next update of the game, Beta 4, scheduled for release in July this year.

The new beta will shift from the Xaya blockchain to the Polygon mainnet and utilize WCHI, which is Xaya’s native CHI wrapped as an ERC-20 token, and MATIC for tx fees.

Soccerverse will run in a browser on desktop, tablet and mobile devices with native mobile apps coming soon.

You can register your interest and get the latest updates on its release by subscribing to our newsletter on the new Soccerverse website. You’ll also be able to check out the live web app that is being played by real players currently on the Xaya blockchain:

https://soccerverse.io/

Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming?

Visit https://xaya.io

Join the conversation:

https://twitter.com/XAYA_tech
https://www.facebook.com/XAYAtech/
https://discord.gg/r4BdtNQCNV

Find out more about the Xaya platform and its components:

Xaya GitHub
Tutorials & Documentation
XID
Game Channels
Game Channels demo (2)
Ephemeral Timestamps

Games:

https://taurion.io/
https://soccermanagerelite.com/ → https://soccerverse.io/
https://treatfighter.com/

UPDATE 2022–05–17: The site is live for you to register your Xaya names at https://reg-polygon.xaya.io/.

As part of Xaya’s expansion and evolution, Xaya Names can now be minted as ERC-721 tokens on Polygon on the 17th of May at 4pm UTC. Due to Xaya’s blockchain agnostic tech stack this opens up Xaya’s reach to millions of users across the Polygon ecosystem.

Xaya names are unique NFTs and are similar to Namecoin and ENS names. Xaya names have a variety of uses with the top 2 being for game accounts and for use as a secure decentralized identity for authentication or authorization. As a game account, they can hold in-game assets and function however the game developer wishes them to.

Xaya name purchases are permanent with no renewal required. This ensures that gamers never lose their accounts as long as they have their private keys. It also means that if the private keys for a name are lost, then it’s gone forever. (Pro tip: Always have multiple backups.)

The price of names on Polygon has been set at 1 WCHI. This is to reduce spam or mass registration of names, however this cost can be changed in the future.

The names follow the ERC-721 standard and the tokens are inherently non-fungible and allow for special ownership functionality. As ERC-721 tokens, they can also be freely traded on platforms such as OpenSea.

This ability to freely buy/sell/trade names is an important feature for developing the Xaya ecosystem as one where gamers are put up front as first class citizens. In the current gaming paradigm, most game studios’ terms of service state that it is prohibited to buy/sell/trade in-game items and/or accounts. By making accounts freely tradable, gamers are clearly prioritized with true ownership of their game assets, instead of being at the mercy of arbitrary policies from game developers.

Other than trading value, this feature has practical value in games as well. If we look back at Huntercoin in 2014, it was common for players to transfer their Huntercoin names to trusted friends should they have a nice stack of coins they needed to take back to their base to put in the bank, or if they had possession of the Crown of Fortune. As Huntercoin is a persistent universe, whether you are at the keyboard is irrelevant to whether or not you can be affected by what’s currently happening in the game. With a valuable asset such as the Crown of Fortune, it was highly advantageous to be able to send that account to a trusted friend to safeguard while you are AFK, such as when sleeping. What’s more, you can even rent or lend accounts as you can with other ERC-721 tokens in a trustless decentralized way once those projects being developed by other developers in the Ethereum ecosystem become available.

However, for better security with less trust, in the future players will be able to designate the power for others to send moves on their behalf without transferring accounts. These designations will include the ability to limit moves to specific games and/or for specific time periods. Perhaps less obvious is how this will engender and foster better team cooperation and make Xaya games more social with deeper personal connections.

You can start registering Xaya Names on the 17th of May at 4pm UTC at:

https://reg-polygon.xaya.io/

You’ll also be able to trade your premium names on OpenSea.

Note: You will need MATIC for tx fees and 1 WCHI per name (at this time) which can be purchased on Quickswap (contract address is 0xE79feAAA457ad7899357E8E2065a3267aC9eE601 and can be verified on GitHub here) or Uniswap (however you would need to then transfer this to Polygon through the Polygon Bridge).

Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming?

Visit https://xaya.io

Join the conversation:

https://twitter.com/XAYA_tech
https://www.facebook.com/XAYAtech/
https://discord.gg/r4BdtNQCNV

Find out more about the Xaya platform and its components:

Xaya GitHub
Tutorials & Documentation
XID
Game Channels
Game Channels demo (2)
Ephemeral Timestamps

Games:

https://taurion.io/
https://soccermanagerelite.com/
https://treatfighter.com/

There’s a lot going on with Xaya, although much of it isn’t highly visible. This update goes over some of that, including some of those less obvious things.

At the top of the list of questions we get asked about is Soccer Manager Elite. Under the hood, there’s a lot of infrastructure that will be completely transparent for end users, but that is necessary for the game.

Some of the most recent updates include:

Xaya integration for EVM-based blockchains (such as Polygon)

Xaya Accounts Contract deployment on Polygon with security audit

Metamask working with Xaya games

Game Channels improvements and working on Polygon

Game Channels have been tested and working on Polygon through Xayaships

Rebranding of Soccer Manager Elite (including new website)

New SME read-only web version now open to public

Treat Fighter

Xaya EVM integration

Xaya EVM integration has been finalized and it is possible for developers to build games on EVM chains to take advantage of the various Xaya technologies to create their own fully decentralised game worlds.

Xaya X also means that games written for any chain, e.g. those written for Xaya Core can be run on other chains without any code changes (except for wallet functionality of course). Xaya X acts as an interface layer between the blockchain and Xaya’s Game State Processors (GSPs).

Xaya X is on GitHub here:

https://github.com/xaya/xayax/commits/master

Xaya Naming Contract on Polygon

Xaya’s Naming Contract is ready to be deployed on Polygon and has been audited by Solidified. This allows developers to launch games on Polygon so they can take advantage of the various technologies Xaya brings to the space, such as the ability to run games entirely without servers.

Xaya names can be registered using this contract with WCHI. More details will be available soon regarding a launch date and a simple website to register names on Polygon with Metamask.

The Polygon contract source code can be found in the Xaya GitHub repo here:

https://github.com/xaya/polygon-contract

The security audit can be found here:

https://github.com/solidified-platform/audits/blob/master/Audit%20Report%20-%20Xaya.pdf

Metamask

Metamask has been tested with registering names and updating those names values, which is essentially making moves in Xaya games.

As the most popular EVM wallet, Metamask will allow millions of users to enter the Xaya ecosystem. It will also facilitate easier and faster adoption of the Xaya platform and Xaya games.

Game Channels

With respect to some of the core Xaya technologies, Game Channels have been improved and have been tested working on EVM chains with Xaya X.

As a reminder for those unfamiliar with Game Channels, Game Channels allow for fully trustless realtime decentralized games while reducing blocking bloat and allowing unlimited transactions per second that cost a mere 2 or 3 on-chain transactions.

Xayaships

Combined with the above infrastructure, this allows putting the Xayaships tech demo fully on Polygon. Further updates and a public release are forthcoming. Anyone interested in viewing the code can find the appropriate branch here:

https://github.com/xaya/libxayagame/tree/ships-tests-on-eth/ships

Soccer Manager Elite Rebranding

In order to better reflect the evolving crypto environment and direction of Xaya, Soccer Manager Elite is undergoing a rebranding that will help to communicate these changes, which we believe are all for the better. The rebrand will include a new website as well. More information on this will be released shortly.

A rebrand is forthcoming

The SME web version is still read-only, but runs in any browser. It’s progressed to a state now where we’re confident to open it up publicly. You can find it here:

https://smeflutter.web.app/

Note that it is still read only and a WIP. The data in the game is live from the current beta users who run the game on the Unity client.

We are currently focused on the next beta round that will allow for playing the game inside the browser using Metamask. This is almost complete and we expect a release within a couple of months.

Treat Fighter

In addition to SME’s rebranding, Treat Fighter has had some quality time spent on the backend. When it was first created, libxayagame (Xaya’s SDK) wasn’t yet complete, and Treat Fighter never had the opportunity to take advantage of that plug-and-play infrastructure. It was an MVP (minimum viable product) demo.

Now, Treat Fighter is near completion with a massive code rewrite that fixes countless bugs, brings greater stability, includes many improvements, integrates lite mode (using an SPV wallet, i.e. Xaya Electrum), and will place it near the front of fully decentralised true blockchain games. The next release will be a beta period to help stress test the game and find any possible remaining bugs.

Although primarily created as an MVP/demo (and we still aim to run it as such), we have some plans / competitions where winners of ultra-rare treats may have them minted as NFTs on Ethereum. More information on this to come and any ideas are welcome from within the Discord community.

The tyranny of the Overlords of Canedoom is nigh! Prepare yourselves, and harden your hearts as the most powerful Treats require sacrifices!

Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming?

Visit https://xaya.io

Join the conversation:

https://twitter.com/XAYA_tech
https://www.facebook.com/XAYAtech/
https://discord.gg/r4BdtNQCNV

Find out more about the Xaya platform and its components:

Xaya GitHub
Tutorials & Documentation
XID
Game Channels
Game Channels demo (2)
Ephemeral Timestamps

Games:

https://taurion.io/
https://soccermanagerelite.com/
https://treatfighter.com/

Sometimes life isn’t easy when you’re 10 years old, and that was particularly true for Jay and his family. Both mom and dad had long since lost their jobs because of Covid lockdowns. Nobody was hiring and it didn’t help that they lived fairly far outside of the nearest town.

Dawn was breaking when Jay rolled out of bed. Everyone else was still asleep. The echoes of his mother’s tears that he overheard the previous night still rang in his ears.

“Today will be different,” Jay thought to himself. For Jay, today there would be new hope. After all, it was Christmas morning. And even though there was no Christmas tree in the living room, no presents, and only a pile of unpaid bills in the kitchen, there would be hope.

Jay grabbed a brightly decorated homemade envelope addressed to his mom and dad from under his pillow and quietly crept downstairs.

For months Jay had spent as much spare time as he could on the computer. Most kids play games, and Jay wasn’t that different from others, but there was one advantage for him; Jay had found some play-to-earn “Human Mining” games. The months of grinding, quests, and adventures had paid off though, and Jay’s Christmas envelope was proof.

One fully decentralised blockchain game had proven to be particularly profitable as it was a hit and Jay had started early. Last week he finished selling off the last few valuable items he had in it, and even managed to sell his accounts.

Other Human Mining games Jay had played also afforded him the opportunity to earn. Some proved to be too difficult for him, but a few paid off.

Jay tiptoed into the kitchen and placed the envelope on the kitchen table between his mom and dad’s places, then quietly set the table for breakfast. He boiled some water and dumped in some rolled oats to make porridge for the family.

After propping up the envelope with the salt and pepper shakers to make it particularly conspicuous, he made his way back upstairs to wake up his mom and dad. Jay smiled and thought to himself, “This Christmas, I’m Santa Claus.”

The joy of giving

It is more blessed to give than to receive. — Acts 20:35

Christmas is a wonderful opportunity to give and to experience the joy of giving.

This Christmas, we hope that you and your family enjoy giving gifts to your loved ones, and that their smiles bring you great joy!

Merry Christmas to all of you from everyone on the Xaya team!

— Story by Xaya co-founder, Ryan Smyth.

Want to know more about the benefits of blockchain for gaming?

Visit https://xaya.io

Join the conversation:

https://taurion.io/
https://twitter.com/XAYA_tech
https://www.facebook.com/XAYAtech/
https://discord.gg/r4BdtNQCNV

Find out more about the Xaya platform and its components:

Xaya GitHub
Tutorials & Documentation
XID
Game Channels
Game Channels demo (2)
Ephemeral Timestamps
