QUANTUM BACKROOMS IS AN OPEN-ACCESS GAME, INVITING ANYONE AND EVERYONE TO EXPLORE A VIRTUAL WORLD GENERATED BY REAL QUANTUM COMPUTERS.

INSPIRED BY THE 'BACKROOMS' INTERNET LORE - ENDLESS MAZES OF EERIE, LIMINAL CORRIDORS - YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED TO NAVIGATE EVER-CHANGING LEVELS AND REACH THE FINAL FLOOR BEFORE LOSING YOUR SANITY.

THE MAPS INSIDE QUANTUM BACKROOMS ARE NOT CREATED USING CONVENTIONAL COMPUTING TECHNIQUES. THE GAME INSTEAD USES QUANTUM COMPUTING TO CREATE LABYRINTHS SHAPED BY THE BEHAVIOUR AND ARCHITECTURE OF AN ACTUAL QUANTUM PROCESSING UNIT (QPU).

EACH QUBIT WITHIN THE QUANTUM PROCESSOR CORRESPONDS TO A ROOM OR SQUARE WITHIN THE MAZE, WHILE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE QUBITS DETERMINES THE STRUCTURES SUCH AS WALLS OR OPENINGS. THE RESULTING LAYOUTS ARE A SUPERPOSITION OF POSSIBLE MAP STATES THAT ENABLE PLAYERS TO EXPERIENCE QUANTUM DYNAMICS FIRST-HAND.
