Welcome to the shadows. I’m Ruby Nyx — a brand new indie author figuring this whole book world out one chaotic page at a time.

By day, I’m a shameless hobby hoarder, sticker collector, and cottage baker who thinks the best ideas always hit at midnight (when I should 100% be asleep). By night, I dive headfirst into dark fantasy and romance — spinning tales of blood-stained crowns, broken heroes, and heroines who set kingdoms on fire instead of falling in line.

I write for readers who crave more — more heat, more heartbreak, more danger. My stories are laced with messy magic, wild love, forbidden devotion, and the kind of obsession that leaves bruises. Nothing soft. Just sharp edges and whispered secrets in the dark.

When I’m not wrangling plot twists or dreaming up morally grey men who ruin everything for love, you’ll find me baking cookies, trying to sneak in a nap, or being thoroughly bossed around by my kids.

If you’re here, you’re part of the madness — so grab a cookie, stay up too late, and come get lost in my wicked little world.

Ruby Nyx Does It Again: A Deep Dive into Moonstone and Mocha
With her latest novella, Moonstone and Mocha, Ruby Nyx has written another fabulous story that solidifies her reputation for excellence in the genre. While brief, the narrative carries the emotional weight of a full-length novel through its poetic prose and vivid world-building. Nyx continues to offer a refreshing narrative style that feels remarkably original—a prose poem dedicated to the "cozy fantasy" genre. The story centers on the enchanting dynamic between a witch and a vampire in the setting of Lunar Hallow. What stands out most is the emotional intelligence of the writing; the male main character is written with a depth that makes the reader feel truly seen and cherished. For those seeking a "palette cleanser" that doesn't sacrifice heart for brevity, this is an essential read. It is a warm, comforting, and visually stunning work. I truly cannot wait for her next book to see where she takes us next.

This novella is utterly captivating, a story that lingers in your heart long after the final page is closed. Ruby’s prose is exquisite and poetic, each sentence meticulously crafted into something that transcends ordinary storytelling. Her words don’t just tell a tale—they resonate, weaving a delicate yet haunting romance between a vampire and a witch that is both tender and enchanting. It reads less like a conventional novella and more like a magical love poem, a soothing balm for the soul. I remain completely enthralled by her writing and can’t wait to see where Ruby’s imagination leads next—she never fails to amaze.

Moonstone and Mocha. I love this title! This book was so sweet. I loved that there was a witch and a vampire, but it wasn't the kind of vampire like everyone else writes about, and that's what makes it so good. It was just too cute the way this couple, the main characters, slowly approached a relationship. It was such a sweet romance. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a quick, non-spicy, beautiful, and love packed story.

“Because when I’m here, I forget how long forever feels”

This was a 4.5✨ read for me.

Coming from a girl who normally CANNOT stand cozy romances not one bit. Ruby did it in such a way that made me feel the warmth it was intended to. To feel the longing, the love, the magic. The descriptions alone made me feel at home in Lunar Hallow.🕯️

This story brings YOU to the front as the FMC feeling all the magic and light this story brings. I’m not one who normally enjoys slight repetitiveness but it was absolutely necessary to keep you in the moment. Let this tale of love between a witch and vampire wrap your heart in it moonlit delight🌙

“You live surrounded by light”🕯️ “and you, carry the night with you”🌌

This was such a short, sweet, and beautiful novella. The way Ruby writes is almost poetic, it's just simply beautiful and I admire the way she words her story's, spinning them into a beautiful work of art. This was such a sweet love story about a vampire and witch. A great palette cleanser! The way she wrote this, it feels more like a poem, but a beautiful story nonetheless! I can't wait to see where she takes us next on her journey, she never disappoints and has quickly became one of my favorite authors
