Pick up your Summer Reading Log at the Information Desk and get your startup prize.
Summer Reading Check ins are done with Cherish the Teen Programming Coordinator during Teen Room hours (3-6 weekdays) and immediately before and after Teen Programs.

2026 Summer Reading has begun!
Come to the information desk to register for summer reading! Summer Reading is for everyone of all ages! Adults will get an “Adventure Booklet” with different activities and pages to track reading and hours read. Check in, in August using your “raffle tickets” to enter for different AMAZING raffle baskets! Reading is okay on any level, audiobooks, magazines, ebooks, reading bedtime stories to your children… This all counts!
Children’s Summer Reading!
Registration for all children’s programs and the Summer Reading challenge at the Olean Public Library begins July 1st .
Register for clubs and programs in person, online or by phone. These begin the week of July 13th.
Registration is requested for all programs except Special Events.
Kids of all ages register for the Unearth a Story summer reading challenge. Read on your own or with someone to earn Kid Cash and buy cool prizes.
Check-ins begin July 13th. NO CHECK INS ON FRIDAYS.
The last day to check in and receive prizes is August 6th.
