STARGRAPH
A Targeting System For Your Telescope
Stargraph is a telescope accessory that pairs with your smartphone and acts as a digital guide to the night sky. Transform your telescope into a digital Push-To system in seconds and quickly find what you're seeking.
What can it do?
- Help you quickly align with any star, no matter your skill level
- Teach you about the stars with context from Wikipedia
- Discover the night sky with a built-in planetarium keyed to your telescope
- Expect an average accuracy of 0.3° across most telescope setups[1]
- Supports your standard altitude-azimuth and dobsonian style telescope mounts with ease
- The system learns and improves as you use it!
- Equatorial mounts are also supported but considered experimental
- All this and much more!
[1] To calculate the accuracy, I added diagnostic information to the app (an opt-in feature that anyone can enable) which helps me track the performance over time. This claim is directly derived from the data.
Kickstarter Is USA Only
We are planning to use our funding to secure a CE certification, opening up sales across Europe. But until then, the Kickstarter will only ship to the USA.
Do I need an internet connection?
Stargraph works entirely offline. You can use it in the wilderness or your backyard.
How beginner-friendly is this?
Very. Stargraph is great for first-time telescope owners. You don't need prior astronomy knowledge. Stargraph handles the math, you just move the scope.
Why wouldn't you just use a phone as the sensor?
Stargraph was designed as dedicated hardware for accuracy reasons. With a dedicated IMU, I can calibrate each unit individually which honestly makes a big difference. It has other benefits too, like preserving your phone's battery and basic functionality throughout the night.
When does it launch?
Stargraph launched on Kickstarter July 7th, 2026
