Thanh Nguyen /tan wɪnn/

she.her.hers.

Born and raised in Southern Vietnam, Thanh is a Bay Area techie creative who is interested in the interactions between personal perceptions and physical experiences; between the body and the mind. Her visual work concern introspection in the form of spatial depth, large space, and excessive composition. On one hand, her hand drawings experiment with how the chaotic yet flexible mind responds to the permanent nature of ink medium. On the other hand, her printmaking and digital works allow a more intentional and well-planned execution of such composition.
After earning her B.A. in Studio Arts and Computer Science in 2019, Thanh has been working full-time as a senior platform engineer while also learning, performing, organizing and teaching in her beloved salsa community in her spare time. She has five years of experienced in cloud infrastructure security specialized in reliability of high-loading systems. She takes pride in the creative resourcefulness that stems from her interdisciplinary background, a long-term human-centered vision for the work that she delivers, and communication skills that transcend the niche scope of software engineering. For the next few years, Thanh aims to integrate programming into her personal visual art & dancing projects, while also bringing cultural and humanistic elements into her professional work.
