Claver points to August 2024, when carry trade fears contributed to a 13% single-day S&P drop, as a preview of what a full unwind looks like.

Where XRP Comes In

The Genius Act positions U.S. banks to absorb returning Treasuries as stablecoin reserves. Investment banks holding unrealized losses would need an appreciating asset to offset them. Claver points to Bitcoin ETFs as a systemic risk factor, noting that pension funds and sovereign wealth funds have made allocations.

A sharp Bitcoin drawdown forces those positions to be sold, accelerating volatility and pushing markets toward real-time settlement infrastructure.

The DTCC Is Already Building

Stock markets currently settle at T+1. Claver referenced a statement from the NASDAQ president, made in conversation with Ripple’s Monica Long at Swell, about using distributed ledger technology for DTCC settlement and reconciliation between clearinghouses and brokers.

That development is already moving. Ripple Prime has been confirmed as a named participant in the DTCC’s 50-firm Industry Working Group, alongside Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, BlackRock, Circle, and Ondo Finance. The DTCC plans initial production trades for its tokenization service in July, with a full launch in October.

Legislation and Liquidity

The CLARITY Act adds another layer. It was designed to resolve longstanding regulatory uncertainty around digital asset classification. It currently sits on the Senate Legislative Calendar with a vote expected soon.

Settling tokenized equity markets at scale requires deep liquidity, and Claver believes that XRP must rise to provide that buffer. Between the yen carry trade unwind, Bitcoin ETF demand, and the DTCC’s tokenization rollout, the conditions for a supply shock are building.

DTCC confirmed live production trades on July 15, involving Russell 1000 stocks, major ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. More than 30 firms participated, representing a cross-section of traditional financial institutions and digital market participants.

The full-service launch remains scheduled for October 2026. DTCC’s own promotional material captured the shift in four words. “From experimentation to production.”

Nadine Chakar and the Road to July 15

The video also featured a post from Nadine Chakar, the Managing Director and Global Head of DTCC Digital Assets. She leads DTCC’s push to build digital securities and tokenization infrastructure at institutional scale.

In December 2025, the SEC granted DTCC a no-action letter authorizing it to tokenize institutional-grade assets covering Russell 1000 stocks, major ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. Chakar was a signatory on that request, which allows the DTCC to move forward without the CLARITY Act. She posted “This is just the beginning – July 15th is the day the roadmap becomes reality!!”

Ripple’s Position Inside the Infrastructure

Ripple Prime is a member of the DTCC’s 50-firm Industry Working Group alongside Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and BlackRock. That placement did not happen overnight. Ripple acquired prime brokerage firm Hidden Road in April 2025, rebranded it as Ripple Prime, and secured its position inside DTCC’s clearing infrastructure from there.

Dan Spuller, a key industry figure, captured the scale of the shift. “Two DTCC announcements in two weeks. 24×5 clearing is live, and tokenization is moving from experimentation to production.”

The reaction across the XRP community was immediate. Accounts noted that DTCC posted a countdown to July 15, describing the moment as the shift from experimentation to production across 50+ firms, covering Russell 1000 stocks, ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries, all on-chain, 24/7. The Road to October 2026

The October 2026 full launch gives Ripple Prime direct access to DTCC’s clearing rails. That positions it to link DTCC-settled assets with XRP Ledger liquidity as the service scales globally. The infrastructure is no longer theoretical.

Representative Hugh Blackwell shared the video on X. In it, Trump made a series of commitments to the crypto community. He promised to keep the future of crypto and Bitcoin in the USA, support the right to self-custody, and block the creation of a central bank digital currency. He vowed to keep Elizabeth Warren and those with a similar negative stance away from cryptocurrencies.

A President Who Has Backed His Words

Those remarks came during the 2024 campaign, but Trump’s actions in office have matched them. His administration backed the GENIUS Act, stablecoin legislation that became law. He has actively lobbied the Senate to pass the CLARITY Act, the most significant digital asset legislation currently before Congress.

Trump’s push for the Clarity Act grew even more prominent after the death of Senator Lindsey Graham. Trump publicly stated that passing the bill was one of Graham’s wishes, calling him “a big supporter” of the legislation and urging the Senate to act in his honor.

Why the CLARITY Act is Important for XRP

The CLARITY Act is the centerpiece of the current crypto legislative push. The Senate Banking Committee approved it in May. It has sat on the legislative calendar since, with unresolved disputes over ethics provisions and stablecoin yield rules holding up a floor vote.

Senator Cynthia Lummis, the bill’s lead advocate, went on Fox Business and stated, “We are ready.” She said the updated text would be introduced in the coming days and expects a floor vote the week of July 20. August recess begins August 8, making this the last realistic window for passage in 2026.

The stakes are significant for XRP holders. The SEC and CFTC jointly classified XRP as a digital commodity in March, but that classification is an interpretive release that a future administration could reverse. The CLARITY Act would lock XRP’s commodity status into federal law permanently, removing a major barrier to institutional adoption.

]]> The XRP rich list is drawing attention again. Crypto commentator BagMan (@XRPBags) shared updated distribution data from the XRP Ledger. He highlighted the thresholds required to rank among the top holders, making elite status more accessible as the numbers are falling again.

The data he shared shows three key thresholds. The top 10% of XRP holders now need at least 2,155.87 XRP. This is down almost 6 tokens from the 2,161.81 tokens it cost at the start of July. The top 5% requires 7,507.39 XRP. To reach the top 1%, a wallet needs 45,000 XRP.

What the Numbers Cost Today

At the current price of $1.10 per XRP, these thresholds translate into concrete dollar figures. Reaching the top 10% costs approximately $2,371. The top 5% requires roughly $8,258. The top 1% sits at around $49,500.

Those figures put the upper tiers in perspective. For many retail investors, the top 10% represents an attainable goal. Joining the top 1% is a more serious commitment, but still achievable for many market participants.

The Full Picture

The complete table BagMan shared fills out the distribution across every major tier. The top 2% threshold sits at 21,939.74 XRP, which costs approximately $24,134 at current prices. The top 3% requires 14,076.12 XRP, or around $15,484. The top 4% sits at 10,030 XRP, roughly $11,033.

Moving further up, the top 0.5% requires 80,203.15 XRP, which costs approximately $88,223. The top 0.2% threshold is at 159,385.33 XRP, or around $175,324. The top 0.1% requires 277,098.12 XRP, putting the cost near $304,808.

At the very top, the top 0.01% holds at least 3,714,074.61 XRP across just 800 accounts. At $1.10, that represents over $4 million per wallet at the minimum threshold.

A Concentrated Distribution

The account numbers reveal how concentrated XRP ownership remains. Only 79,985 accounts qualify for the top 1%. The top 0.1% covers 7,999 accounts. The top 0.01% holds fewer than 1,000.

The distribution data suggest a network in which a small number of accounts hold a significant portion of the supply, and the gap between tiers grows sharply toward the top. Intriguingly, recent data suggest that over 74% of all circulating tokens are in wallets with over 1 million XRP. This shows the influence large holders have over the token distribution.
