TK Steels Group is committed to environmental sustainability across all our operations. We adhere to the ISO 14001:2015 standard, implementing measures to minimize our ecological footprint through waste reduction, energy efficiency, and strict adherence to environmental regulations.
The initiative began inside our own gates. Using the Miyawaki dense-plantation method, we have planted 18,000 native trees across our plants in Ludhiana, a green cover that sequesters an estimated 300 tonnes of CO2 every year. Our sustainable manufacturing practices earned TK Steel Rolling Mills recognition as a UNDP-GEF Model Unit in 2010.
TK Steels and Prime Steel Processors are proud recipients of 5-star Green Steel certification from the National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology (NISST), Ministry of Steel, Government of India, recognizing our products for their reduced carbon emission intensity.
Prime Steel Processors achieves lower energy consumption than comparable induction-furnace wire rod plants by using a Direct Billet Charging route, rolling directly after casting without the energy cost of reheating.
The certified greenness ratings stand at 31.91 percent for TK Steels Bars and Rods and 66.63 percent for Prime Steel Processors Wire Rods.

TK Steels Group founded and pioneered the “Lungs of Ludhiana” initiative, a city-wide reforestation mission using the scientific Miyawaki method, which grows dense native forests up to 10 times faster than conventional plantations.
What began as our own plantation effort has grown into a city-wide movement, inspiring other industries across Ludhiana to join the cause. Together, participating industries under this initiative have planted over 175,000 trees citywide, with TK Steels and Prime Steel Processors directly responsible for planting and maintaining a significant share of this green cover.

A plant is only as good as the people running it. Every employee attends structured technical and safety training each month, and bi-monthly health camps bring preventive healthcare directly to the shop floor.
Community responsibility takes practical forms here. Our team designed and built a dog shelter entirely from recycled industrial drums, housing the strays that live around our plants. It is a small project, and we mention it because it says something true about our culture: waste becomes material, and responsibility does not stop at the factory gate.
Safety at TK Steels is a condition of operation, not a target. Our occupational health and safety system is certified to ISO 45001:2018. Quarterly independent safety audits benchmark every unit, and mandatory weekly safety briefings keep all personnel current on procedure. The measure that matters: every employee returns home safely, every day.
TK Steels is led by its founding family, now in its third generation, with two Managing Directors providing direct operational oversight of all three units. We hold active roles in CII and LMA, contributing to policy and skill development in Indian manufacturing.
On the shop floor, governance means discipline: a 5S, Kaizen and Lean culture across all units, ISO 9001:2015 quality management, ZED Silver certification for both TK Steels and TK Steel Rolling Mills under the Government of India’s Zero Defect Zero Effect programme, and 100 percent in-house non-destructive testing before any bar leaves for dispatch.
