RELEASE DAY After almost 10 years of hard work, tireless research, and a dive deep into the kernels of computer science, I finally realized a dream: running a high-level language on GPUs. And I'm giving it to the world! Bend compiles modern programming features, including: -

so here's a challenge I put you in a time chamber I give you 10,000 books to read for every word you read, I ask you to guess the next word if you guess it right, I give you a cake if you guess it wrong, I zap your butt and when you're done, we start over again and again and

chatgpt, claude, gemini, grok, etc have all read, comprehended, and nearly memorized every book in the world, and yet with current architectures and training techniques none of them have any truly novel knowledge to give us. really makes you think

BTW, I've basically stopped using Opus entirely and I now have several Codex tabs with GPT-5-high working on different tasks across the 3 codebases (HVM, Bend, Kolmo). Progress has never been so intense. My job now is basically passing well-specified tasks to Codex, and reviewing

A short proof that LLMs (even o1) still can't reason: Consider the problem of inverting a perfect binary tree. That's an old, entry-level interview question that humans and LLMs can solve easily. Now, let's add just 3 key nuances to make it new and unique: 1. It must invert

Seriously - this is great. I can't overstate how good it is. I spent a LONG time to get a half-decent run with Opus back then. Other models could barely draw a frame. GPT-4o just... plays the game. This is Pokémon Red. In a terminal. To details. It remembers everything I do, it

Pro tip: you can greatly increase GPT-4's effective context size by asking it to compress your prompts using its own abbreviations. #GPT4

Ok, I feel safe to say it now: Grok3 is the new king. Not sure what is up with people claiming otherwise, but they're wrong. This model is scary smart. Spooky even. Perhaps it has some weird quirks, but the IQ is there. Good night

Sad to see Nintendo going in this direction to appeal this generation. I hate drugs and alcohol so I'm done with the Mario franchise

I *WAS* WRONG - $10K CLAIMED! ## The Claim Two days ago, I confidently claimed that "GPTs will NEVER solve the A::B problem". I believed that: 1. GPTs can't truly learn new problems, outside of their training set, 2. GPTs can't perform long-term reasoning, no matter how simple

A simple puzzle GPTs will NEVER solve: As a good programmer, I like isolating issues in the simplest form. So, whenever you find yourself trying to explain why GPTs will never reach AGI - just show them this prompt. It is a braindead question that most children should be able to
