Congratulations to Hawaiki for landing their cable! More choices for NZ internet providers to access the globe, and more redundancy for NZs connections to the rest of the world
๐Hawaiki cable is launched! ๐27 months in construction, $300 million (US) to construct, 15,000km long (that's long enough to go around the Equator, twice) 43 terabit capacity (that's fast enough download more than 8,500 HD films every second!) bit.ly/2O98mnr
Weโre in the process of upgrading our core network to 100gbps over the next couple of months - thatโs 100 BILLION โ1s and 0sโ flowing through our core routers very second!
No downtime is expected at any part of the upgrade
Seems we have a few @SpaceX and rocket fans on the Voyager Network! ๐We saw a 25% increase on our baseline 8am traffic today in anticipation of the launch. Sadly it was scrubbed due to weather, but is rescheduled for Sunday at 7:22am NZST. Who else is planning on watching?
Wow. Just wow. Can't believe that sort of thing goes on. We're all humans together on this rock hurtling through space, you'd have thought we'd all be able to just respect one another by now. Here's to the continued improvement of acceptance of diversity!
We've sent 20 Voyager staff over to Sydney to 'unleash the power within' with the man himself @TonyRobbins! We can't wait to hear back from our colleagues about how this inspirational event has impacted them! High fives all round! ๐ #UPWSydney2018#tonyrobbinsupw
