⏰ IT’S LIVE CHAT TIME Hi community friends, welcome! I’m glad you are here. TONIGHT’S TOPIC: SURVIVOR’S GUILT We’re opening up space to talk about survivor’s guilt. It’s a very real part of the bc experience that isn’t always talked about. Survivor’s guilt can look different for everyone. For early-stage bc (0-3), it might come up when you finish treatment & wonder, “Why did I get through this when others are still struggling?” For those living with Stage 4 MBC, survivor’s guilt can appear when treatments are working for you while friends in the community may be facing progression or loss. No matter where you are on the path, these feelings can be complicated & heavy—but sharing them helps lighten the load. ❓❓❓Have you had feelings of Survivor’s guilt? ✔️ Be sure to tap the chat bubble 💬💬💬 to join in on the conversation. I had my first oncology follow up appointment today. So with my type of breast cancer all I needed was a breast exam and her asking how I was doing on anastrazole. I am doing fine and I feel I am getting stronger. I went up and down 2 flights of stairs without feeling winded. This told me I’m feeling better and “healing” from being anemic due to chemo. She said my breast exam was normal. I will have an echocardiogram in August, a mammogram in October. I will see her in January. All is well for now.

Young and Diagnosed
Has anyone been diagnosed or tested for Inflammatory Breast Cancer after completing treatment for Invasive ductal carcinoma? Last year I went through chemo (May-Sept), lumpectomy (Oct.), and then radiation (Dec.) for IDC ER/PR+ Her2-. Last week I had sudden breast swelling and had 60 cc of fluid aspirated from a seroma. I was put on antibiotics. While some of my symptoms have improved from last week, my breast where I formally had cancer is going through skin changes and feels very different them it has previously. I did not get to see my regular surgical oncologist- the NP believes I should try PT to help with lymphodema ... I asked about IBC because almost everything I am experiencing this week matches what I understand could be sign of secondary IBC. I am just not sure if I should push to get a biopsy or wait and try PT first. It can be a long wait to get into PT in my area.

My view this morning - feeding a teenage boy. 4 eggs, 4 bacon, giant protein pancake, cup of strawberries. He’s got two wrestling practices today. He’ll have second breakfast after first practice 😂 Foster dog just being cute waiting for a crumb of bacon. What’s your view right now?
