We re-tested Bluehost using a new shared hosting account. 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. Bluehost has improved in several visible areas: • The dashboard is clean and beginner-friendly. • cPanel is still available, but many common tasks can be done from the Bluehost portal. • SSL was installed automatically on our test site. • Current plans now publish clearer limits for websites, storage, visit guidance, support scope, and renewal pricing. • Server location can be selected during checkout. 𝗛𝗼𝘄𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿... Performance was more mixed. Our India-based test account performed well in basic latency checks and scored 9.3/10 in our WordPress benchmark runs. (see image 1) But in uncached WordPress load testing, Bluehost was stable rather than fast. Across 1, 5, and 10 virtual users, the test returned 0% errors. However, average response time stayed around 1.4 seconds. Since the site was intentionally left uncached, this gave us a better view of real WordPress page generation on shared hosting. (see image 2 & 3 and more samples in our detailed review) 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: Bluehost looks stronger on paper than before, and it is easy for beginners to use. But the real-world performance, renewal pricing, checkout upsells, email upsells, and refund handling still make us cautious. (image 4 & 5) We also tested the cancellation process. Our monthly account was initially said to be ineligible for refund, but Bluehost later agreed to refund after reviewing our short testing usage. Bluehost can work for simple WordPress sites and first-time users who want an easy setup. But for users who care about dynamic WordPress speed, clean pricing, WooCommerce growth, or developer control, we would compare other options first.
