I am almost ready to travel to Berlin this week for WeAreDevelopers! Can't wait to see y'all there. Don't miss my session on Friday! Code is cheap now. Software still isn’t. This talk is about using AI as leverage, not as a shortcut. - AI can write Java code fast. I’ll show where that helps, where it fails, and how to stay in control in real systems. - Most “hallucinations” are not magic. They are missing context. I’ll explain how to fix that. - If you work on large Java codebases, I’ll share practical patterns for using AI without breaking what already works. - We’ll look at constraints, decomposition, rules, skills, and verification, and why they matter more than prompt tricks. Early enough to catch before you head home. Late enough so you don't get to wake up too early! Right in the sweet spot! Also make sure to stop by the IBM Booth and grab some Bob swag while we have it! And of course try out Bob yourself! See you all tomorrow!
Want to get into Terraform? Watch HashiCorp's Richard Boyd and Rosemary Wang learn it the hard way by diving into the codebase. ⤵️
Richard Boyd and Rosemary Wang (Community Team at HashiCorp, an IBM Company) learn IBM Terraform the hard way by diving into the codebase and questioning all their assumptions. In this episode, they learn about using OPA and Sentinel for policy as code with HCP Terraform, a managed service for deploying Terraform configuration. They’ll explore the why of policy as code, policy syntax, and adding libraries. You can use Bob Shell to automate almost everything 🛠️⚙️... for example your pull request reviews🧑💻 If you want to see in detail how this works, head over to GitHub: https://lnkd.in/d-MCvtPU
Don't just hope you didn't miss an important infrastructure change buried in hundreds of lines of output. Catch it early by reviewing your Terraform plan with Terraform MCP and LLMs. Ash Minhas shows you how, here: https://ibm.co/6042EOinw
Messy PDFs don't have to stay messy. See how to use IBM Bob and Docling for IBM watsonx to extract structured data from documents and build a purchase order processing application with spec-driven development. Start building → https://lnkd.in/eCNPYaRw
AI agents are easy to demo. Production is a different problem. Enter CUGA. 🦉 An open-source agent harness that handles orchestration so you can spend less time on plumbing and more time building. See how it works with practical examples you can read, run, and adapt: https://ibm.co/6042EO64E
Give AI agents access to the tools they need to take action. ⚡️ Alex Soto shows how to build an MCP server with Java and Quarkus, extending IBM Bob with custom tools and integrations. Watch the full walkthrough → https://ibm.co/6045E3mrJ
Your models and agents can only reason over what they can understand. Docling for IBM watsonx transforms PDFs, images, and more into structured, AI-ready data while preserving layout, tables, reading order, and context that many extraction approaches lose.
