Pre-Registration and Enrolment
To help you prepare for September, you should have now received a link to your pre-registration form via email/text. This needs to be completed and submitted before 21st July 2026.
You will be invited to enrolment (with specific times) by email and letter on/after 21st July, inviting you to come to Reaseheath to complete all the remaining steps needed to start your course. Please make every effort to attend as this is an important step before you join us.

Animal Management
Practical lesson requirements
- Overalls that can be worn over normal clothing (in a dark colour), Steel toe capped boots / wellies
- Jewellery is documented in a number of zoo risk assessments as an avoidable hazard to persons and animals and for this reason, jewellery should be removed. Where a learner tells a member of staff that jewellery cannot be removed, a blue plaster may be worn to reduce the risk of the above (Blue plasters will not be provided by the college).
- Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back.
- ID badges should be worn at registration, but can be either tucked into overalls or carried in a pocket during practical activity.
- Nails should be kept to a short length in the interest of hygiene. False nails are not permitted.
- During inclement weather, it is advisable to bring warm clothes e.g. gloves, scarves, waterproof and windproof clothing. Sunscreen is advisable when working outdoors in summer.
- At the end of practical, sanitise and wash hands and pack practical clothing into a separate bag so that it can be taken away and washed before it is next used.
- Anything brought in can be stored in one of the holding bins at Animal Management during a practical lesson, the college cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property, please consider this when deciding whether to bring in Valuables, or items of sentimental value on a day when practical lessons are due to take place.
Where learners are unable to meet the above, they may not be able to participate fully which could result in action by the college to address the unsatisfactory levels of attendance, engagement or progress.

Personal Protective Equipment must be worn during practical sessions in the Processing Halls and are to be purchased through the college supplier. Orders must be placed with payment at the beginning of August. The PPE is then delivered to Reaseheath ready for the new term to start. PPE purchased from other suppliers will not be authorised and will not be allowed to be used in practical lessons.
It is recommended that orders are placed at the beginning of August.

Laundry Costs
All Personal Protective Equipment are laundered commercially by our suppliers; the cost is £80.00 per student per year payable via the college on-line shop Food Centre Laundry | Reaseheath College Online Store (two separate payments of £40).

Environmental Conservation
For practical sessions
- All weather gear – waterproofs and warm fleecy clothing. Waterproof trousers if you have them. Please ensure that these aren’t so expensive that you can’t get muddy in them. You will get muddy!! #

- Riding hats to current standard must be worn to participate in activities which involve handling horses.
- Hairnets must be worn when wearing riding hats unless you have very short hair.
- Gloves must also be worn when wearing a riding hat.
- Long hair must be neatly always tied back without loose hair around the face on the yard.
- Body protectors must be worn for pole and jumping lessons, in addition to riding in the open. They are strongly recommended for all ridden sessions.
- Hoodies, long socks of a bright colour, jewellery, piercings and phones are not allowed on the yard during practical sessions.
- Sleeveless polo shirts (with a collar) can be worn for yard duties.
- Country boots/riding boots/wellies can be worn when undertaking Yard Duties and must be a dark colour.
- Full length waterproof chaps are permitted but must be clean and dark coloured.
- Shorts and vest tops are not permitted.
- We strongly recommend that self-adhesive false nails or long acrylics are not worn whilst working on the yard for Health and Safety reasons and for horse welfare. If you choose to wear false nails, it is done so at your own risk, and you must wear gloves at all times when on the yard.
- There is no specific dress code for classroom study, however, we encourage a professional working environment and therefore all clothing must be appropriate.

Student Health and Wellbeing
The Student Wellbeing Service supports all students needing help while at college. Our professional team helps you stay healthy, safe, and emotionally resilient through confidential one-to-one appointments, counselling, crisis support, and a listening ear.
We offer advice on issues such as homesickness, mental health, relationships, bullying, coursework pressures, anxiety, finances, bereavement, and family problems. Whatever challenges you face, we’re here to support you and help you reach your potential.
Students can access support at any stage in a relaxed, non-judgmental environment. You can also use BeWell, our 24/7 online wellbeing resource. Counselling is available on site, via Teams, or by phone. You can contact the Wellbeing Team or the College Chaplain in confidence at WellbeingTeam@reaseheath.ac.uk.
Note: The service is confidential. Information is only shared to necessary individuals if there is serious risk to you or others, and you will usually be informed if this occurs.
Meningitis B Vaccine
The UK Government is recommending the MenB vaccine for some students.
You may be eligible if:
- You are in the age group of year 13 (born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008) or,
- You were born on or after July 2001 and will be living in further education accommodation for the first time or,
- You are under 25 years-old and beginning university this Autumn
The vaccine is not compulsory, but if you are eligible, you may want to talk to your GP about getting vaccinated.

Location and opening times of the Wellbeing Hub
Location:
- We’re based in the Wellbeing Hub on the ground floor of Jodrell Hall, next to the Amazon locker. This location is fully accessible.
- Most appointments are held in the Wellbeing Centre, where each Advisor has a private office. However, we can also meet students in their curriculum areas if they prefer.
We aim to make accessing support as easy and flexible as possible, ensuring students feel safe, heard, and supported.

- Appointments can be offered face to face, via Microsoft Team, text or over the phone

The college chaplain
Reaseheath College has a chaplain on campus based next to The Wellbeing Hub, available to all students of any faith or none, to discuss aspects of faith or morality.
Chaplain MC Chang runs ‘MC Time’ every Thursday from 12pm-2pm and ‘Rooted’ every Wednesday from 7pm-8pm in the Bield Bar, where you can meet like minded people with a slice of pizza.
A prayer room is available next to The Wellbeing Hub for use at any time. For regular access, please contact wellbeingteam@reaseheath.ac.uk to sign out a key.
College counselling service
The College Counselling Service can help with specific problems on a regular basis if you need support. Counselling provides a relaxed setting where you can talk freely. Referrals are made through your Wellbeing Advisor and The Student Wellbeing Service can also refer you to outside agencies if necessary.
The Wellbeing Team’s work is personal and often unseen, but its impact is profound, supporting students through trauma, mental health challenges, and times of crisis. Many parents have praised Reaseheath’s exceptional pastoral care, which remains a core part of what makes our college special.

Accommodation
Reaseheath has on-site accommodation for up to 1000 students, fully supported by a 24/7 Student Support Team. Reaseheath has residential places for students who require disabled facilities.

In under 18 accommodation there is a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, iron and ironing board along with storage facilities.

Yes, there are washing facilities around campus to wash your clothes (cash charges do apply).

Student ID Cards
*Please note we are a cashless campus
If you are a Residential student who has chosen a 5 or 7 day meal plan, you will use your student ID card to obtain your meals in the College catering outlets.
Non-residential students who receive free college meals will have a daily allowance of £5 credited to their cards, which can also be used in the college catering outlets.

Student ID cards are also used to access the college printers and copiers. Your card will be pre-loaded with a credit amount, further funds can be added via the machines located in the Library, IT Centre and HE Centre.

Transport
For students travelling by bus, we have extensive routes across the country and surrounding regions. Transport staff at the college are clearly visible in order to help you find your correct bus for your return travel from college. See further information such as our transport routes and how to apply for a bus pass here.
For students travelling by train, our coaches collect from the following railway stations: Crewe, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Stafford, Stockport, Wallasey, Warrington and Whitchurch. Financial support is available to eligible students from the Discretionary Learner Support Fund.
For students travelling from further afield, you may consider residential student accommodation.

When do I need to apply for college transport?
You can find out more about our transport and register your interest on our transport webpage.
We recommend you apply for your college transport early to avoid any disruption. For any applications received in August we can’t guarantee that you will receive your bus pass during your first week of college.
When will I get my bus pass?
Your bus pass is included on your student ID card which you will receive during your first week of college. Until you receive you student ID card you will need to show the bus driver your payment receipt from your transport application (this can be a print off or an electronic copy).

What do I need to do before I start in September?
Here is a checklist for what to do before you join us in September 2026:
- Complete your pre-registration (check your texts/emails for the link) before 21st July
- Come to enrolment (this begins on 20th August and your exact time will be emailed to you by the end of July)
- Apply for transport, accommodation, and a bursary if needed.
- Check what kit and equipment your course requires (kit lists above)
- Keep checking emails from us over the summer

How do I update my contact details/address?
You can email fe-applications@reaseheath.ac.uk with your full name, date of birth and the first line of your address, along with the changes that you wish to make, and we can do it for you.
If I have been accepted for a Level 2 course but I get the results for a Level 3 course, will I be able to transfer?
Following GCSE results day all students will be invited to college to meet their course manager. This will be your opportunity to discuss this and a transfer will be arranged if appropriate.
Can I change courses to a different area?
As the change is within a different subject area you will need to put a new application in and be interviewed again. If you are successful in securing a place on the new course, you will then need to withdraw your place on the course you originally applied for.
What if I don’t get the grades I was predicted?
Please do not worry about your grades. Following your GCSE results you will be able to discuss this with the course manager and a transfer will be arranged to the course level appropriate to your actual GCSE grades.
I am no longer attending college, can you remove me from the course?
Please send an email to fe-applications@reaseheath.ac.uk with your name, student reference number and reason for withdrawing.
When will timetables be announced?
Once you’ve received your GCSE results, you will be invited to college to meet your course manager. (If you have already received your results from a previous year, this will still apply to you.) They will then confirm your first day and induction week. You will be issued with your full timetable during your first week of college.
Will there be transition days before September?
You will be invited into college to meet with your Course Manager once you’ve received your GCSE results. This will provide another opportunity for you to discuss your course and ask any questions about starting in September. You will find out when your first day will be and receive your timetable for induction week. You will be issued with your full timetable during your first week of college.
Depending on your chosen course, you may receive an invitation to a specific transition day. You will be notified of these via email.

The catering team at Reaseheath offers a wide range of food options across the site for our students, staff and visitors. We offer breakfast, lunch and evening meals along with snacks throughout the day. The catering team can accommodate a variety of diets and food allergies so if you have specific needs please speak to a member of the team and they will be pleased to assist.
What supermarkets are there nearby?
There is a Sainsburys, Morrisons and Aldi all close by.
What is there to do in Nantwich?
There are plenty of places to socialise in Nantwich, including independent coffee shops and artisan restaurants, as well as events such as the annual Jazz and Blues Festival and the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival.
