Alongside a major rollout of drone operations, the rollout of static live facial recognition cameras and increased use of AI to analyse video evidence in criminal investigations - this technology and data exploitation could enable policing to make a transformative leap.
2,000 arrests made with support of LFR cameras since 2024. Helping us take sex offenders and prolific shoplifters off the streets of London. We will roll out the use of static LFR cameras to crime hotspots in central London, helping officers locate offenders.
Drones deploy to 160 incidents a week, responding in less than 2 minutes. Giving officers critical intelligence, helping us act faster and more safely. It is our ambition that by this time next year, the Met will have drone coverage in every London borough.
