The Berlin immigration office shut down its information centre. There is no one left to answer people's questions. Emails and fax numbers were scrubbed from their website. I tried to bring it up to their Ombudsmann but he's gone too. I don't know where to get answers anymore.
Finding out how to take the integration test is the real integration test. The official websites don't explain what the test is or how to take it. The official list of test locations is a spreadsheet. There are no appointments for months. If this feels normal, you're integrated.
I finally have an Ausländerbehörde appointment! It's only 8 months after I sent my documents, and 5 months after my residence permit expired. If the appointment goes well, I will wait another 2 months to get my residence permit.
Good news! The Berlin immigration office is about to digitalise the permanent residence application process. It worked REALLY well for the citizenship and the Blue Card, and made the wait times much shorter.
