Key things that are happening now… as of October 2026

October marked two years into working at Beacon CRM. We had a bad August, but we’re coming out the other side of that. We’re now in the process of rolling out the Google Spanner update to all customers.
Globe started two services in September, it’s been a change to go from one gathering of ~300 people cramming into a school hall to go into two. As always with these changes there are teething issues to work through, but it’s been encouraging.
I was invited to be part of the team that fed into the v2 update of the FaithTech Playbook. I got a copy of the update a couple of weeks ago, and we worked through it with the participants at BUILD - the revised Lament -> Discern -> Build -> Steward loop is really clear and helpful. I’d recommend giving it a read. I also supported the FaithTech London team hosting BUILD again this month.
I was optimistic about getting back into running in May… it was short lived.
There have been no standout books in the reading list recently, I did enjoy reading The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion though. I’ve got the latest Stormlight Archive coming up soon which I’m looking forward to getting into.
In May I was slowly watching through Stargate SG1… I’m still going slowly on that!
