About

Kumusta! I’m Kush (she/her), an independent filmmaker and video editor based in the Philippines.
You can see what I’ve made on my work site and my Gumroad profile. If you’re curious what I’m up to lately, I keep a now page for that.
I’m a freelance editor working with Oddity, an Australian video production company, and it’s going really well. I work with agencies and startups on content creation and video production. Leaving the stressful 9-to-5 was one of the best things to happen to me recently. Honestly, I just feel better, mentally and physically.
For over 10 years, I’ve worked with educators, small business owners and all sorts of clients to make visual content that connects with people. Storytelling matters most to me, and it goes beyond commercial work. I also make short films, and the best part is shaping a story with artists who care about it as much as I do.

Outside of work, I am a self-proclaimed serial hobbyist. I’ve taken a great interest in brewing coffee at home. I put a lot of time and effort into buying beans from different roasters locally and internationally. I’m also trying to write coffee reviews. I love photography as well, and I try to publish my photos online, though I am generally shy about doing this. On any given day, I watch one or two movies.
I am fascinated by technology, especially ethical and useful technologies. I enjoy tinkering with the Internet. I spend most of my time these days thinking about the web — how it works, how it’s changing, and how we can make it a better place. The World Wide Web has always fascinated me. I feel as though I grew up on the Internet, and that it has taught me a lot of what I know. Technology has often found ways to pull me into new hobbies like making websites. I’ve made lots of websites that I forgot most of them.

This site is built with Hugo, hosted on Netlify, and served globally through Cloudflare. I prototyped the design in Figma, then coded it by hand in HTML and custom CSS, with the occasional nudge from Claude. Photos page is still a work in progress but it will be using lightGallery. More about my website can be seen here.
I have a uses page too if you’re interested.
