How the test works

lag.dev pings 8 servers worldwide, 3 near and 5 far, about 4 times a second until you pause or close the tab. Every 15 s one server also runs a 5 s download and upload, so you see latency rise under load: bufferbloat. A run uses about 5 MB per Mbps of your combined download and upload speed; the data counter shows the running total. Measurements are used to improve URnetwork's network performance. No IP address is kept, only your network and city-level location, for 7 days.
