Back to having a single version of Xcode installed, currently 27.1. A few weeks ago, had at least 3-4 different versions installed for different things. Hard drive space is at a premium right now.

I’ve been reworking how we handle new registrations to discourage spammers. Instead of requiring a credit card to weed out scammers, we’re going to try to catch problematic first posts before they get published. I hope this’ll make the 7-day trial experience better for real users.

For the latest Sunlit, I’ve updated the new scheduled check-ins to remove delays longer than one day. This feature currently uses blog posts scheduled in the future, so you don’t actually want the time drifting too much. We might need to rethink this specifically for check-ins.

In a way, it’s a great time to be an indie developer. But the challenge is getting noticed in all the noise when you’re just getting started. So many apps. Looking forward to the new season of The Gilded Age tonight. 📺

This 2-3 day cold appears to be running its course. Getting a mix of coding and reading done. Also eating too much candy. 🎃

Looking into this blog post from OpenAI, both OpenAI and Anthropic appear to be converging on an IETF draft to limit training via robots.txt. It uses the special user-agent string __usage_ai-training. I’ve updated the Micro.blog help page on robots to include this.

Very cool to see the Blowfish theme ported over to Micro.blog by @nhr. It’s a unique theme and has a bunch of settings to control the home page and other things.

Starting to feel a little bit better in time for Halloween. Got candy and carved a pumpkin. For fun, we still have the micro.boo domain collecting Halloween-related posts. 🎃
