Python Philippines (PythonPH)

My first time volunteering for Python Philippines (PythonPH)! I joined the very first PyWorks, which was also PythonPH's first-ever Hacktoberfest event, as one of the co-facilitators for the Data and AI track. Beyond the sessions, I got to know the people behind the group. They put real time and heart into growing the Python community here in the Philippines, and it was a privilege to see that work up close. Special thanks to Rodney for inviting me to be a co-facilitator. Thank you also to the speakers, the organizing team, fellow co-facis, and the RELX team for hosting us. On to the next PyWorks! :DD #PythonPH #PyWorks #Hacktoberfest #Python #DataAndAI #TechCommunity

Markets move, stacks evolve, and the code still has to hold. Spent the day with Ztephen at the Python Philippines September 2026 Meetup: “Markets Are Always Changing, Code Shouldn’t Be” last September 17 at Nasdaq Philippines, getting a closer look at how Python fits into systems that have to keep up with markets that never sit still. Great conversations, sharper technical perspectives, and a reminder that writing code is one thing. Building code that survives change is another. #PythonPhilippines #Python #SoftwareDevelopment #TechTalks #ComputerScience #KeepBuilding

At first, I was hesitant to join since I was neither a Python expert nor a complete beginner. Still, my hunger for knowledge pushed me to give it a try. Even without much experience in Python, attending PyWorks 2026 by Python Philippines (PythonPH) last October 3 was a great opportunity. Aside from meeting new people and learning from their experiences, I gained valuable insights from the workshop itself. As someone who works with AI almost everyday, it has become like a friend I constantly ask for help: "Hi, can you analyze this data" or "Fix this DAX pls" 😅 During the workshop, I learned how to go beyond basic prompting through the RICE framework: Role, Input, Context, and Expectation. I discovered how a well-structured prompt can generate far more meaningful insights than a simple one. We even had an exercise to improve prompts, and while I only scored 9 out of 15 😅, it was a great learning experience. Beyond Prompt Engineering, I was also introduced to Context Engineering and learned the difference between the two. Prompt Engineering focuses on giving instructions to AI, while Context Engineering focuses on providing the right information and background to help AI perform better. One of the most exciting parts of the workshop was creating a website entirely from a prompt I had written using Lovable. It was amazing to see an idea turn into something tangible with just the right instructions and context. Lastly, thank you to Python Philippines and to our workshop organizers for organizing this workshop. I learned a lot, met amazing people, and left with new knowledge and inspiration to keep learning! ✨

Glad to share that I attended my first tech event with Lance Kent Geoffrey Magollado and JOHN BENEDICT AQUINO at PyWorks Octover 2026, hosted by Python Philippines (PythonPH) at Reed Elsevier Philippines, UP Technohub this last October 3! I joined the Data track where I got to learn more about how Python can be used in different parts of the data workflow. Our first session focused on data engineering and analytics, introducing tools like Pydantic for handling messy input data, data validation, and enforcing data contracts, as well as DuckDB for working with data, exporting to Parquet, and writing SQL queries. The second session explored the data science side, covering machine learning concepts such as classification vs regression, feature selection, and overfitting. And, the all powerful "it depends" answer was argued and discussed! It was a fun experience and a great opportunity to learn, meet others interested in Python and data, and see how these concepts are applied in practice. Big thanks to Python Philippines and Reed Elsevier for putting this event together! Looking forward to more data events! #PyWorks #PythonPhilippines #DataAnalytics #DataEngineering #MachineLearning

Did something fun last weekend! I truly hope it was a fun and infomative session for both beginners and expert practitioners alike 🥳

We did it, everyone! 🎉 Our very first PyWorks is officially in the books, and it was also our first-ever Hacktoberfest event! It feels so good to see the smiles on everyone's faces when they learn something new, when they meet new people, and most importantly, when they get to claim some swags! But I'm going to say that I am the happiest person in that room. Nothing could top the joy of celebrating my 30th with the people I've grown with. 🌸 And of course, none of this would have happened without the hands and the heart of the people behind it. I'm so proud of you all, and congratulations to everyone! A huge thank you for making sure we were so well taken care of, and for sharing our excitement in celebrating the first PyWorks with us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you! This won't be the last, so stay tuned for more Python Philippines (PythonPH) workshop updates. 🙌

Last October 3, I had the opportunity to attend PyWorks: Data and AI by Python Philippines (PythonPH) at RELX | Reed Elsevier, UP Ayala TechnoHub. It was my first time attending an event like this, and I honestly learned a lot while meeting and connecting with fellow developers and professionals. I joined Track 2: AI & Automation, covering: 🤖 Generative AI and Prompt Engineering by Sir Lee Mark Chavez 🧠 Intro to Context Engineering by Sir Daniel Caparro One of my biggest takeaways was learning how the right prompt, context, and structure can make AI more useful for development and problem-solving. I’m looking forward to applying what I learned to my current projects. Im also happy to go home with some event goodies shirt, stickers, and a tote bag! 😄 Huge thanks to Python Philippines (PythonPH), Reed Elsevier Philippines, Major League Hacking, and all the sponsors, organizers, speakers, and volunteers who made this Hacktoberfest event possible. Hopefully, this is just the first of many tech events I can be part with the community. Thank you! 🚀 #PyWorksPH #PythonPH #DataAndAI #AI #Automation #PromptEngineering #MajorLeagueHacking #ContextEngineering #HacktoberFest #Python
