Dear Santa and Rudolph

Dear Santa and Rudolph,

I have been a very Good Dog this year.

I only pee in the garden when it is raining. At all other times I pee on the grass, I promise.

I only eat the cat poop if the people leave me alone without a snack, which really isn't fair.

I help the people with "clean up" by licking the floor and digging through their bags for any leftover food. This is very important because often they forget food in their bags, especially my littlest person.

I only pull on the leash if there is a squirrel or a Cat. Or sometimes another Dog.

Oh, and I suppose I should also tell you that I try hard to listen to my people, including my littlest person. Especially if she has pop corn. I do the silly thing called "training" with my big person whenever she asks, and I am very patient when she tells me over and over to put my paw on something, or push something else with my nose.

I always wait patiently for my dinner, and I sit on my mat while my people are eating their dinner, even though it smells better than mine. I always go into my crate at bed time, and I don't wake the people up in the middle of the night. I always wait when my person tells me to instead of running through a door, even if there's a Cat on the other side! (This is hard Santa, but I do it!)

I do not complain (much) when don't get a Walk because Nature is making too much rain.

And whenever my people leave, I wait for them to come back. Always. Because this is a Dog's job.

For Christmas I would like peace between Dogs. And people too. I would like something nice for my friends the Cats, like treats or catnip.

Oh, and for me? How nice of you to ask. I would like a bone, and I would like some snow to play in. And I want to spend time with my people. That's the best thing of all.

Your Good Dog,
Cobi

How to be a Good Dog

It's that time again. My littlest person tells me that Rudolph (and Santa) are coming soon. The person named Santa will leave toys and treats for my people, and, if I am a Good Dog, his friend Rudolph will leave me something yummy for me.

Last year Rudolph left me "elk bone", "candy cane chew", and "squeaky stuffed crab toy". So I am working very hard again this year to be a Good Dog!

Here I am sitting on my Mat during Dinner. I'm not sure how this qualifies as "good" - wouldn't it be more helpful if I was cleaning up the floor around the messy people? But my person assures me that yes, this is being a Good Dog.

Do Rudolph or Santa ever come for you? And what do you do that makes you a Good Dog? (I need help - this is very important!!)

Rudolph and Santa came!

Yesterday Rudolph and Santa came! I thought I heard them late at night when my people were sleeping, so I closed my eyes and did not bark. I am Good Dog.

It must have been them because then in the morning there were special things for me!

Image

My littlest person helped me find my special presents.

There was Beef Rib, Elk Antler, and raw-hide-candy-cane. Also there was a new tag for my collar that says my name in people writing. It's very special.

The cats helped.

They got presents from Rudolph and Santa too!

The people had many presents, although most of them were boring. Books and clothes and people-games. They also got these funny chairs. I'm not sure that they're meant for dogs...

Image

There was good food all day, but no turkey. My people tells me that the turkey comes tonight. I'm very excited.

Yesterday I also got a wonderful walk at Mount Doug Forest. I played in the mud and ran over the rocks, and we climbed high into the mist.

I thought maybe I saw Rudolph in the sky, so I told him thank-you for the wonderful things, and for having my family at home with me. I love my people most of all.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Not really "bad dog"

Momma C went to "meeting". She put me in my bed. She told me "stay".

But the sun was so warm... Rudolph, do you really blame me? Am I truly "bad dog"?

Dear Rudolph

Dear Rudolph,

My littlest person tells me that the thing called Christmas is coming again. This means that soon you will be visiting our house with your person, who is large and round and makes hohoho noises.

I need to tell you that I have been a Good Dog. I have worked hard for Momma B to learn new things. At the placed called Work, I stay in my bed when Momma C asks and I almost never bark any more.

I did make a mistake and ate some cat poo. I try not to do that anymore, even though it is very tasty. I am also trying not to chase Cats, even though they move very fast.

This year I would like a bone. I would also like a new toy that makes squeak noises when I bite on it. And I would like for my family to be home so we can do fun things together.

If I haven't been a very good dog, at least I have been a little bit of a good dog. So maybe you could bring a little bone?

Licks,
Cobi

Christmas!

Today is Christmas! Last night Santa and Rudolph came! I was sleeping so I didn't hear them. But they came!

This is what Santa brought me!

And this one is from Rudolph. It makes a wonderful noise when I bite on it.

There is another one of those things that look like a tree but smell like plastic here at GrandmaAndGrandpas. All of the paper-boxes under the tree-of-plastic came out. This one is for me!

How do I get inside?

Image

Well, what is it?

Image

Image

Now what are you doing to it? What are "tags"?

Image

Oh, it's mine it's mine! It's green and it squeaks! No, you can't have it. It's mine!

Image

I like this Christmas thing.

Image

I got three squeaky toys and yummy smelling treats in a bag. This Christmas thing is great. Can we do it again tomorrow?

Now I sleep.

Just kidding!
I am only sneezing.

Dear Jacobi

Dear Jacobi,

Don't worry, Santa Claus has time for all members of the family, even the four-legged ones.

It sounds like you have indeed been a good dog this year. The elves who were keeping an eye on the child in your house spotted you doing some good things. They saw you waiting quietly in your crate for your dinner, they noticed you behaving respectfully towards the cat named Jericho, and they caught you playing fun games with your family members.

I snuck a peek in Santa's office and your name is up at the top of the Good Dog List. To keep it up there, you should consider taking a break from chasing the cat named Jack. Also, perhaps you could try a little harder not to bark so much in the house when people are coming or going.

I'm sure we can make your Chrismtas wishes come true. As long as the bone is not from a reindeer I will be happy to deliver it. And I always love bringing toys to those that enjoy them. Perhaps something that squeaks?

Please ask your people to put out a carrot or some oats for me.

Reindeer kisses,
Rudolph

Dear Rudolph

Image

Dear Rudolph,

My littlest person wrote a letter to Santa. I'm not sure Santa has time for letters from dogs so I am writing to you instead.

This year I have been a Good Dog. I listen when my people ask me to do Sit, Lie Down, Stay, Wait and Leave It. I now go into my crate-den at night right away instead of trying to stay up later. I only ran away a few times, and that was only because I was trying to find my Momma B. I try to walk nicely beside my person instead of pulling on the leash. I don't chew things that aren't mine. I don't always understand what my people ask but I try my best to please them.

So I have been a Good Dog.

For Christmas I would like a bone, a new toy and snow to play in. And I would like my people to be near. That's the most important part.

I promise on Christmas eve I will go into my crate-den extra early and close my eyes. I will not growl or bark when you land on the roof. Remember, I am a Good Dog.

Kiss-lick-lick,
Jacobi
