Everyone participating in the AI Hackathon community—including, but not limited to the hackathon and Slack channel—is required to agree to the following Code of Conduct, as well as the AI Hackathon 2026 Participant Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Photo Release form you signed when confirming your spot. This includes all attendees, speakers, performers, patrons (sponsors), volunteers, and staff.
The UC Berkeley AI Hackathon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, neurotype, physical appearance, body, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, language, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from these spaces at the discretion of Hackathons @ Berkeley organizers. Hackathons @ Berkeley prioritizes marginalized people’s safety over privileged people’s comfort. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, organizers may take any action we deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from all AI Hackathon spaces and identification of the participant as a harasser to other Hackathons @ Berkeley community members or the general public.
