Bio

I'm a serial hobbyist, trying to have as much fun as I can, Some things I find stupid, and I probably will tell you, but I try not to be a dick about it, mostly I do manage that.
Anything I say is just my personal opinion or if it sounds really stupid, probably a joke. Yes I might have opinions that you don't like, and if you don't I'm willing to talk
about it, just be honest and decent and I will strive to do the same.

Anything I post on here is under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 If you want to use my posts for something commercial (LLM training, ad testiment etc) just contact me and I'm sure we could
make something out.

Some things I do like:

  • Programming
  • Shorthand
  • Retrogames
  • Indiegames
  • Pen and paper puzzles
  • Reading

I've been starting to read the Liaden universe series, and I have to say that so far this book has held up very well for being written in the late eighties :) very enjoyable so far :)

Had a nice walk today, have my phone pretty much at up now, just hoping for some nice days at work this week, the anxiousness has been going down a bit, not quite gone, but not filling my chest and stomach all day, which makes for a day that is a bit nicer :)

Finished up my book yesterday (Zypheria's call by Nathan Lowell) Really enjoyable book, and after all the peril in the last one it was nice to read one with a bit less of that in it :)

Starting out reading the Liaden Series by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. Now starting out with Agent of Change, I've heard good things about the series, so hopefully I will enjoy it :)

I'm kind of seeing an annoying pattern in reddit sci-fi books, either people are praising high concept literary books like "Blindsight" by Watts or "Hyperion" by Simmons that I don't read, or mainstream trashy stuff that I don't read like "Hail Mary" by Weir or "Bobiverse" or "Red Rising" there is nothing in the middle ground where I'm comfortable it seems :p

I'm really enjoying the second book in the Tanyth Fairport series of Nathan Lowell, it's not as much dramatic stuff happening as in the first one, which I think is a good thing, it's just nice taking part in the characters lives for a bit.

Got my christmas gifts sent homewards today, it's always a hassle dealing with the Post, used an hour or so yesterday writing toll papers, then having to pack it so that it hopefully doesn't get broken, then carry my 7 kg package the 2 km to the post office :p And it wasn't even cheap, must be heavier than what I sent last year, since then I think I paid 30€ and this year I paid 50€, but at least it's done and it's one less thing to work constantly in the back of my head.

I got surprisingly much done today, or maybe I just feel that way since I really like scripting, and got to create two today :)

First good day at work in a long time, finally feeling a bit more happy again :)

My Syrian collegue at work today is really happy, happy that there is hope for his country again, I don't think I've seen him smile this way for years :)

Seems like it's powershell day again today, It's a pretty decent scripting language for just getting shit done quickly, and it's just the most hassle free way to get things done on windows in a regular fashion.

One thing that I would love in @AntennaPod would be to have a trash cam for automatically deleted episodes, like they stay 12 hours in there before they really get deleted, some times I listen through some episodes half asleep, and want to relisten.

So I've gotten a replacement phone, still have to wait for my google account to really set it up, and my sim-card to get it really 100% workable, but at least I have newpipe and antennapod installed (testing it out now that I have a reason to test it out) since I don't have a connected google account I can't use the play store, so f-droid stuff it is for the time being, also can't update my reading, or any of my repositories, or use my linux.pizza account before later, but at least it's something.

Lost my phone on friday, it's kind of annoying, thankfully I think I have backups of anything important, everything else will have to start tabula rasa :p

Had a friend call me at work today, because the last she heard on friday was that I was going out having some beers on friday, and then wasn't able to reach me after that.

Most annoying thing is messaging and 2FA codes, and having to deal with the phone provider to get a new simcard with my old number if possible.

Seems like work isn't really letting me do AoC in time this year, so I will look out for my mental health and do it when I'm not working on a brain that is fried when I'm finished for the day and in my midday break, sad to miss out on the community effort that I have always really enjoyed, but I just can't this year.

Finished off the Serrano Legacy Series yesterday, and it has been a fun trip through 7 books, kind of sad to leave all the characters behind, but that's how it is, now starting the second book in the Tanyth Fairport series by Nathan Lowell.

Today has been a hellish day at work, have been managing by the skin of my teeth, where I work is always hell when it gets close to christmas and easter, really hope things will calm down a bit some time, at least I still have hope.
