Angelicum Alumna and Professor to Deliver Commencement Address

The Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) congratulates Sr. Raffaella Petrini, F.S.E., upon her invitation to deliver the 181st commencement address at the University of Notre Dame (USA). Sr. Raffaella will also be awarded an honorary degree in the ceremony, scheduled to take place on 17 May.

The Angelicum is comprised of 1.100 students from more than 95 countries, and six continents worldwide.

English

The University fosters an engaged and interactive teaching environment. 60% of the courses of study in the Faculties of Theology and Philosophy are in the English language.

Theology

Taking our inspiration from Thomas Aquinas, the Faculty of Theology continues to transmit and deepen the theological Tradition of the Church by attentive listening to the Word of God, fidelity to the Magisterium of the Church, and sensitivity to contemporary questions.

Philosophy

With Aquinas, the Faculty of Philosophy believes that, in principle, reason can lead the mind to God and that it can offer insights into many general and fundamental problems of human existence.

Canon Law

Inspired by the teaching of Aquinas that canon law is a participation in divine law as human law is a participation in natural law, the Faculty of Canon Law provides students with a thorough formation in the current codes of canon law, including their theological foundations, juridical principles and practical applications.

Social Sciences

The Faculty of Social Sciences contributes to the integral and sustainable development of society in the light of Catholic social teaching and the Dominican social tradition through the interdisciplinary formation of change agents in its teaching, research and community outreach.

The Mater Ecclesiae Advanced Institute of Religious Studies, linked to the Faculty of Theology of PUST, is a school of theological formation where one trains oneself to think through the faith, to exercise a believing reason.
