AxCrypt

AxCrypt is a convenient and powerful file encryption program that lets you protect your documents no matter where they go. The application stands out especially for its ease of use.

The application uses a 128-bit AES encryption algorithm, which works perfectly with this operating system by adding a new option in the browser's context menu after installation. Once it's installed, all you have to do is select the file you want by right-clicking it and choose the option AxCrypt. Then you can assign a password to protect it. You can decrypt it in the same way, or by going to the application's interface and entering the filepath where it's found.

But that's not all you can do with AxCrypt. If you want more security for your files, the application can create a keyfile that will be saved on a portable device and without which it'll be impossible to unlock the protected files with the encrypted password.

As a secondary option, AxCrypt can also help you permanently delete files and folders by overwriting them with random data. This way, the files you delete can't be recovered even with special applications.
