So today at work:

gallifrey:/tmp/tiv # rpm -Uvh TIVsm-API64.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
TIVsm-API64 = 6.4.0-0 is needed by (installed) TIVsm-BA-6.4.0-0.x86_64
gallifrey:/tmp/tiv # rpm -Uvh TIVsm-BA.x86_64.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
TIVsm-API64 = 6.4.1-0 is needed by TIVsm-BA-6.4.1-0.x86_64
gallifrey:/tmp/tiv #

So I can't update TSM from 6.4.0.0 to 6.4.1.0 until I first update it from 6.4.0.0 to 6.4.1.0.

I am reminded of the mouseover text from xkcd #754 (http://xkcd.com/754/ ) : "The prereqs for CPSC 357, the class on package management, are CPSC 432, CPSC 357, and glibc2.5 or later."

I would make sarcastic comments about IBM here, but really when it comes to this they are hardly the only culprits.
