The Binational Race is more than just a run — it’s a celebration of unity, endurance, and cross-border friendship between San Diego and Tijuana. As we move into our third edition, this race invites runners of all levels to join a truly historic experience.
Whether you’re crossing the border on foot, running in Tijuana alongside those coming from San Diego, or running virtually from home, you’re part of a movement that breaks boundaries — one step at a time.
Run It Your Way
Half Marathon (13.1 mi)
Start in San Diego, cross the border mid-race, and finish at the beach in Playas de Tijuana.
12K
Our new 12K starts in San Diego, crosses the border, and delivers the full binational experience—finishing at the same finish line as all distances.
10K
Start and finish in Tijuana, run alongside Half Marathon and 12K participants to the same finish line—no border crossing required, just a great run and a finish line festival waiting for you.

With strong support from both communities—and key meetings with city leaders on both sides of the border—what began as a dream quickly became a reality. From San Diego to Tijuana, local partners stepped in to help build a race that showcases the very best of both cities.
Today, Binational Race is proof of what’s possible when we unite around a shared goal. It’s more than a run—it’s a celebration of connection, community, and crossing boundaries together. Border Crossing & Docs
If you’re crossing the border to start or return to the U.S., you’ll need to bring the usual immigration documents required for your nationality or status.
We recommend keeping them safe in a waterproof pouch or belt to avoid any issues during the race.

Finish Line to Border (All Participants + Guests):
Catch a ride back to the U.S. from La Monumental Bullring (Playas de Tijuana) to San Ysidro Border.
Shuttle schedule from 9am to 12pm
