Joel Mawhinney set to leave Blue Peter this Summer

Joel has announced he’ll be leaving Blue Peter later in the year. Joel has been on Blue Peter for over three and a half years, and what an adventure it’s been! During his time on the show, Joel has done some truly unbelievable things… and a few very silly things too.

From bravely having a thousand bees placed on his face, to learning how to be a top‑class butler at the Savoy hotel for VIP guests Abby and Shini, Joel has always said yes to an adventure. He’s met so many amazing people along the way, including special guests like the Gladiators, Steve Backshall (and a giant snake!), loads of pop stars, and of course, lots and lots of brilliant Blue Peter fans who joined him in the studio audience.

Kyle Thomas is reportedly the next Blue Peter Presenter!

They had previously worked with the charity BLISS in 1989 and had received letters from viewers telling them that they'd been placed in a Blue Peter incubator when they'd been born and wanted to help the next generation of children.

They though this was a great idea with the initial target being £50,000 - a huge amount of money which would help 40 Hospitals.
