This Dead Blog

I am no writer. I never took anything other than "Senior English" in high school and "English 102" in college. Let's be honest here people, my yearbook teacher almost kicked me off the editing staff because I couldn't spell. I just like to play pretend writer. With this dead blog.

So this morning, in pretend writers world, I broke through my writer's block. Which, in mom of two babies world, translates into: I found time between the first viewing of Despicable Me and lunch time for Isaac, Dillon, and myself.

So.

Where have I been?

What have I been doing?

How's the husband, kids, and dog?

What about all those ambitious goals?

How's the weather?

Are you "holding on to the edge of your seat?" I am about to answer those questions for you. Following this post, you can read all about the last three and half months. I'll keep them in order of events and I'll cheat with the dates and make it look like I am on top of blogging like a good writer should be.

So, if you keep reading, I'll slowly catch up on the past events. In the meantime, I'll get back to blogging about the rest of our semi-crazy lives on a semi-regular basis. Who knows maybe I'll finally get around to posting pictures and blogging about projects.

I'm a Project Do-er

Kay. I finally did it.

I have been wanting for so long to make a project blog and I always have a project or two going on to talk about.

I started the blog with a project I did for a family member, but I need to add a few projects that we have going on right  now at home. But I am so one of those people that just needs to get something started or else it stays an idea forever. Which totally torments me.

Anyways. It is boring right now because it only has one post, but it's a good post. So go check it out.

Anticipated Updates

This time I have a legitimate excuse for my absence in the blogging world. Not that my posts are in high demand for your reading entertainment or anything. However, I know my sister in-law, Krista, checks up on our family blog, so we have at least one fan.

Did you hear we had our baby? Yep, hence my blogging absence. Anyways, I finally got around to the blog update, but I kinda cheated. I adjusted the dates on my posts so that they would be in chronological order (scroll down the page for the real news). Someday I might print the blog into a book, since I have failed miserably at journal keeping, and I want accurate dates associated with my posts.

Time for the real posts.

Love and Hate

I have this odd obsession with giving my blog makeover. So I’ll spend all this time making it look cute on my Mac, but by the time I am done I’m sick of sitting on the computer. Half the issue is that I have to go through every blog entry and change them, and there are just too many. So, if you were wondering where all the old blogs went, I still have them, I just decided to not take the time to redo those. So I love making my blog look cute, but I hate spending time doing it.

Dear Friends and Family

So, it has come to my attention that blogging left my vocabulary sometime around September and has not returned until... now. Actually, mid-December I redid the background thinking that the white simple look would inspire me to write more, but that did no good whatsoever. So, as I delay my bedtime, I'll attempt to recall the last few months of 2008.

I do have a very good excuse for not being a committed blogger, and I am sure that Carly will forgive me for not giving her updates to read up on.
Hair school has been kicking my butt since August 4th people! Don’t think for one second that hair school is supposed to be easy. I spent my first three months in a classroom that is 92% girl, and for anyone that knows me well enough I don’t do well with girls. I suppose I am in the wrong industry, I mean, I can handle being friends with a few of them, but level with me: girls are a handful. My first three months of school were solely dedicated to learning the basics. Then sometime in November, I can’t remember when, I tested out of basic. I totally don’t mean to brag, but between my written and practical grades, I averaged a 98%. So I was proud of all my hard work. Since then I have been taking clients and have been doing their hair. Anything from going back blonde, to old lady rollers, to the terrifying mens cuts. It’s been stressful though. Unfortunately, the school I go to has some very rude teachers, so plenty of words have been exchanged. I do have a couple of great teachers though. I am enjoying it though and am doing something I like. I will be done in July and just want to get there.
Back in July Brett tested for the Mesa Police Department and passed all his exams very well. However, for some reason the economy is down, I don’t know! I guess that equals no money for hiring officers. Pretty much all Arizona cities are on a hiring freeze for officers. And so school continues.
Christmas came and went. I spent the holiday with mostly Brett’s family. Krista, Andy, and their two kids Carly and Parker were here from DC. The kids were a blast to have. We all spent plenty of time playing on the Wii. Casey came down from Provo as well. Brett got an acoustic guitar for Christmas and I got Mario Kart and Rockband 2.

Now, we are just here. Brett is getting ready to start up with school again and I trudge on with six months to go. And that is all I intended to write, a brief update.
