There's real grief in online displacement, worry over losing contact with friends, etc., but our world is in the middle of the worst refugee crisis since WWII and calling yourself a "Twitter refugee" is, at best, thoughtlessly distasteful.

Given, Tim Burton should not be allowed near other people's intellectual property. He will destroy it. He never saw an existing world that he didn't want to Burtonize. (I'm looking at you, Dark Shadows.)
By some miracle, he did not screw up the Addams Family "Wednesday" series. He did this by expanding the world.
It's a typical "magic boarding school" tale, that happens to star a mostly-correct Wednesday Addams.
(Which still makes it better than Harry Potter, mind you.)

I do agree that centralization is coming to the fediverse, but not for any of the reasons that most people on here think. That centralization is coming for the exact same reasons that centralization came to email, and it's a reason that many folks that would like things to stay decentralised keep ignoring.
And that is user safety.
A lot of Mastodon fans keep pretending that Mastodon is inclusive. It's not. But it could be.
