Chapter 2 is a series of eras and albums by BTS after their hiatus due their mandatory military service.

On October 12, 2023, Bang Si-hyuk revealed that the group next album will part of a 10th year anniversary project of their Most Beautiful Moment in Life Trilogy.[1] On November 5, 2024, HYBE's chief financial officer Lee Kyung-jun addressed that BTS will expect full-fledged group activities in 2026.[2] On July 1, 2025, the members confirmed that the album will be released on Spring (March to May) of 2026 and they will be working on the album in United States.[3]
On January 1, 2026, BTS confirmed a comeback date on March 20th. This will be their first full-group album in approximately three years and nine months, since their anthology album Proof in June 2022. The comeback date was first revealed through a handwritten letter BTS sent to their fandom, ARMY. They delivered the handwritten letters to fans' homes to mark the New Year. While expressing gratitude to fans for their unwavering support, they also hinted at the comeback date by writing the date "2026.03.20" on the paper. On January 4, 2026, Big Hit Music announced that the new album will have 14 tracks and following the release of their album, BTS will be going on a world tour. The tour schedule will be announced separately on January 14 at 12 am.[4]
