From Data Gaps to Demand Signals: A Working Session for Consortium Leaders
Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 12:00 – 1:00pm ET. Register here.
Acting on energy workforce growth requires more than national projections. It requires localized, forward-looking intelligence that translates demand signals into specific roles, headcounts, and timelines — distinguishing near-term gaps from longer-horizon needs, and getting ahead of shortages before they become acute.
CEWD is exploring an industry-wide demand-side forecasting and talent modeling tool — one built to meet the specific intelligence needs of consortium leaders. It would draw on leading indicators like grid modernization timelines, capital expenditure plans, and permit activity rather than lagging labor market data, and pair that demand picture with supply-side realities: existing workforce capacity, retirement projections, and cross-sector competition for the same talent pools.
In this working session, we’ll identify shared priorities across two areas: the demand and supply signals that would make this tool most actionable, and the metrics that best demonstrate consortium impact. Come ready to share what data you need and what you’re already tracking — your input will directly shape our scope. Who should attend: Consortia leaders — executive committee and board members. Come ready to share what data you need and what you’re already tracking.
