Forestry challenges and solutions

Today's forestry faces challenges such as increasing demands for inventory, stricter regulations, and the need to balance sustainability with financial returns. Traditional methods are becoming outdated and insufficient.

Conifer Visions solve these issues with drone remote sensing and AI-analytics to enable tree-level insight that concistently outperform other methods including measuring trees manually.

  • Providing enhanced monitoring by identifying thinning needs in young forests to prevent underdevelopment.

  • Supplementing geographical planning by supporting optimized species composition and biodiversity.

  • Improving economic returns by increasing timber revenue and supporting long-term sustainability through strategic growth optimization.

  • Optimizing harvesting returns by aligning harvest timing with economic goals and growth potential, maximizing returns and volume production.

  • Providing insights to mitigate risks associated with delayed forest management activities.

How It Works

Drones collect forest images using high-resolution cameras. Then, all images are uploaded to our online AI service, where analysis is performed under our supervision.

Images and analysis results are displayed in our online application as well as distributed to any customer forest management system, GIS system or online forest plan management system.

Drones can be flown by customers themselves or by professional pilots. A skilled pilot can cover 400 - 1 000 hectares per day depending on the drone, offering exeptional coverage of large forest areas.
