About

The name of this blog was inspired by two of my favorite hobbies.

d20

As many enthusiasts of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) or RPG-based video games might guess, “d20” refers to the iconic 20-sided die used to determine the outcome of an action or a skill check.

Low Poly

In 3D computer graphics, “Low Poly” is a modeling technique that uses a relatively small number of geometric surfaces (polygons) to create an object, especially when compared to modern technical standards. What began as a technical necessity during the early days of 3D rendering has evolved into a distinct, minimalist art style—one that is particularly popular in independent video games today.

This is a space where my simplified designs take center stage. In defiance of the digital world’s obsession with smoothness and perfection, it is a home for works where the finer details are intentionally left to your imagination.

It is an experiment in aesthetics, fueled by the winds of nostalgia.

Of course, there’s no need for such grand phrasing; a 20-sided die is a natural form of low poly art in itself—the most fundamental and sharpest version of a sphere. That is why it serves as the perfect name for a blog dedicated to the art of simplification.
