Two awards

Meira and Monika sent 2 different awards my way in the past fortnight.
Image Meira gave me the "Thanks for Writing" award which one gives to their favorite commentators (or is it commentors?).

ImageMonika gave me the "Proximity" award which one gives to, as the award name says, the people they feel the nearness and a bond.

Every time I receive one, I feel a certain sense of high. A sense of feeling good about yourself. But at the same time it makes me take a step back and take a look at myself and wonder what did I do to deserve such an award. And frankly I get no answer. So after many of such 'self-analysis' sessions which resulted in no answer, I've to actually make a lot of effort to just accept them graciously without thinking too much.

So thank you Meira and Monika. Thanks a lot for thinking about me and thinking of me as a deserving candidate for these awards.

I pass on these awards to
Swati
Chandni
XH
Mampi

Its been raining awards!

Literally! After receiving the "Briallante" award from in 2 lots from 5 different people I was flying high when another 3 dropped in my bag (or blog?) from 3 more bloggers - PG, Monika & Monika,Ansh. Thank you all of you!

But I must say this to all..."Itna bhi mat chadhayo ki main neeche hi nahi aa payoon!" :D

And while I had not gathered myself up from beaneath the heap of this "Briallante" award that another one came from 2B's Mommy - The "Blogging Friends Forever" award! To quote her "~nm: A wonderful blogging friend who is always encouraging and supportive. I love visiting her blog too, specially for that element of surprise - you never know what her next post is going to be about. Just love her creativity and her sweet posts inspired from everyday life."

Image
Thanks 2BsMommy - You are such a wonderful person yourself that I'm so glad I came to know you, whatever little may it be.

Frankly all these awards have left me pondering about self and my posts. Are they really looked forward by others? Do they really interest and impact others so much that I've been constantly receiving these awards? Not that I don't like being appreciated but I've always been the kind who feels only deserving should get such awards and appreciations! Never thought that a sundry blogger like me would get it too! And that too from so many people!

And now its my turn to pass on this award to 3 other bloggers. It was really difficult to choose just 3. Here are them:

1. Swati

2. How do we know

3. Lost on the street

Be my friends. Forever!

Edited to add:
Got this award from K3 Rocks once again! Thanks girl!

"Brilliante" once again!

While I was still reeling in euphoria on receiving the 'Brilliante" award from 3 people, pop came in 2 more people bestowing me the same award - again! God, What good did I do in my previous birth to receive such honors?
Image

And I just observed this thing - that all of you who gave me this 'Brilliante' award, all of you mentioned my cooking and the recipes. So is that a sign that I'm a well known for the foodies that I'm or do I take it as that there are other food lovers like me too! :D

roopscoop said "~nm: madly admire her for her creativity and the freshness she brings to everything that she writes. someone who i’d like to live next door to so I can go over and eat everything she cooks *evil laugh*."

>> Trust me roop, I don't cook so often and rarely such niceties that I display on my blog to hog for raves from you all :D I know I can cook a decent meal. And you are more than welcome to eat at my place as long as you only mouth good things about them :D

And pujathakur added "~nm: For her simple and creative posts and of course, the yummy recipes"

Thanks once again everyone! For not only those who gave me this award but to those as well who thought that I was truly worthy of this award. You people just rock! After all who doesn't like to hear good things about self from others :D

And before I go on the 10th cloud again feeling good about self, let me complete this 'Brilliante' award tradition and pass it on to 7 more bloggers.

"The Brilliant Weblog Award- a prize given to sites and blogs that are smart and brilliant both in their content and their design. The purpose of the prize is topromote as many blogs as possible in the blogosphere. Here are the rules to follow:

  3. Show a picture of those who awarded you and those you give the prize (optional) to.
And the award goes to:
  1. For a wonderful Hindi blog : Mathura Kalauny - I just love the blog. His sense of humour, his poems. Just everything about his writings.

  2. For socially helpful efforts: The entire team of Unchaahi - For such consistent efforts on the eradication and awareness about female foeticide.

  3. For humour: Tys on Ice - I just love not only his sense of humour but how he entwines that humour in words with such perfection!

  4. For food: Meeta - For such wonderful food pictures more than the recipes. Its impossible to not drool once you are at her blog.

  5. For cakes: Swati's Sugarcraft & Anamika of Sugarcraft - They both amaze me with the cakes they make. Trust me I will never be able to cut a cake made by them. I would love to preserve them - INTACT!

  6. For creative stuff: Opal Scraps - She makes such wonderful designs.
The list can go on and on but for a change I shall stick to the rules, which I usually love to break *wink*.

This is 'Brilliante'

What can be more 'Brilliante' than being awarded the "Brilliante Weblog Award" by 3 people! First by Inexplicably, then by Mama-Mia and again by Neera!
ImageThey all have said such good things about my blog and about me too that I'm totally overwhelmed!

Inexplicably gave me the award saying "Firstly for being 'there' always. Also for the simple honesty of her sweet blog."

Mama-Mia said "whose creativity keeps giving me serious complex ALL the time! She even made my blog header!"

And Neera went on to shower a basket full of compliments on me "She writes on such a variety of topics and the simplicity in her posts is refreshing. A darling of a son she is raising as well, not to mention the culinary experiments she conducts with appetizing results and pictures."

Thanks so much girls! You are the bestest!!

I'm still trying to absorb all the good things they have said about me and then I shall pass on this award to 7 other bloggers as the rule book says!

I'm NICE.

ImageBefore you start thinking I'm beating my own trumpet feeling too proud and thus am using such adjectives for self, let me tell you that I was given this award by Swati :D

When I think of the word 'NICE' I get 3 things in my head. First thought is invariable about those coconut biscuits with sugar sprinkled on them. Well, what else do you expect from a foodie. The first and foremost thought is invariably about food :D. Second thought that comes to my mind on hearing/thinking about it is the adjective 'nice'. And third is the place in France called 'Nice'. And how can I ever forget that 'Nice' was also the nickname I used to use when I was first introduced to online chats in IRC. :)

So as you can see this word 'Nice' brings out a lot of thoughts in my mind but then let's stick to the adjective 'nice'. Since that is what Swati thinks I am. It is indeed 'nice' to hear that. And why does she think I'm 'nice'? She says I'm among the bunch of "NICE THOUGHTFUL PEOPLE". Well..well...she has added another adjective "thoughtful" here. Gee...thanks girl!

And as I accept this award, I would like to thank my Mommy, my Daddy, my Hubby, my Son, my friends, my colleagues, my maids, my... OK OK..I will stop here. I just thought that I can give a speech like all these actors and actresses give when they are given any award since this blog is my stage. :D

So now its my turn to come back to the stage and do honours to other winners of this award. Going back to the origin of this award -
"This award will be awarded to those that are just nice people , good blog friends and those that inspire good feelings and inspiration! Those that care about others that are there to lend support or those that are just a positive influence in our blogging world!"

I don't know all my blogging pals and yet I know them. Know them enough through this virtual world, through their writings, through their comments to feel that they are nice at heart people. So here I pass on this award to the following fellow bloggers (in alphabetical order):

Asha, Cuckoo, DDMom, Guru, How Do We Know, Lavs, PG, Ps, Roshan R, Sundar& Usha

Yet another award!

Just writing the title made me so happy thinking that I've been awarded another award in less than a year of blogging. It makes me so happy and so charged up for continuing my blogging despite the tussles between me and some people who think I waste my time here. :D

And this time I've been awarded the title of "Best Blogging Buddies Award" by Just Like that! Isn't it such a 'WOW!!'?

ImageThanks JLT for thinking of me for this award! And it was you who also thought of me when giving the "Power of Schmooze" award few months ago.

Despite knowing nothing, beyond this blogging world, about each other somehow I have felt a certain bond towards you. I look forward to reading your posts. I'm sure there is something which is there but we we can't pin point. earlier I used to think I only feel like this but now I can definitely say this feeling is mutual. And now I am at a stage when I have stopped trying to find a reason for this bond/liking towards you. And I just accept it as it is. :D

I had been reading blogs since quite a while before I actually jumped in to start my very own blog. So the first person I will pass this tag on to will be Swati, who in fact was one force, without her knowing it, behind my starting my own blog.

There are lot of people whose blogs I read regularly and who probably read mine too. But There has been no off-the-blog communication between us. But still I feel a buddy-bond with them. One of them being Naina Ashley. Although she has stopped writing since a while but I am hoping this award may get her back on the track. Naina, are you listening?? Somehow if my reader showed 20 new posts and if one was from her, I would straight away jump to read hers first. Don't ask me why!! Coz I won't know the answer myself. :D

And there's a blogger who for me was a buddy first and then a blogger - Stone. So here's to you stone!! Keep writing and continue being my buddy! :D

Me? A Schmooze award?? Really???

ImageI really had to pinch myself hard and not once but twice (ouch!) when I saw that I've been awarded the 'Schmooze Award" once by Collection of Stars and again by Just Like that. I had to to make sure what I was seeing is not one of those weird dreams that I get so often. And slowly I realised it certainly was a reality. And I was so ecstatic. As ecstatic as a small child who's just been given a balloon or a chocolate or a new toy! :D

I'm fairly new to this blogging world with my blogging age less than 6 months and not even hundred posts under my belt! And getting this award was something that I never expected. And such sweet unexpected things bring a big big smile on our faces. Don't they?

About the award, "This award is “for blogger who “effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.” (CollectionOfStars, I picked it as it is from your blog but don't sue me for plagiarism :D )

And yes I agree I'm like that. My Google reader is a standing proof of that with over 100 subscriptions just under the blogs category!

COS awarded me saying
"She always leaves very sweet comments on my posts." Thanks COS! You find my comments sweet enough to give me this award made me smile!

JLT awarded me saying
"A very easygoing , likable person. Absolutely without any airs, and very down-to-earth, her writings are warm and effervescent. She can paint very well and man! can she take a picture! Her comments are always friendly and tongue-in-cheek and I like her all the more for it." JLT, I'm totally floored with the adjectives that you have showered upon me. I'm still swimming in them and don't wanna come out :D

Thanks so much girls!!

There are so many I can honour with this award as is the tradition with this award "Give it as you get it". However I will restrict myself to a few.

I award Ps, whom I discovered recently and do not like to miss any post of hers. I may not comment but I make sure I don't miss any post of hers.

I award 2B's Mommy. Again a new discovery but what I like about her is the genuineness about what she writes. They come right from her heart.

And last but not the least, I award Cuckoo. Again a recent discovery but I find his posts amusing and interesting at the same time.

But hey, I must admit, it was them who discovered me and I walked back the trail. And I'm glad I did.
