Baby talk, hurr hurr

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hey flist, do you know (or possibly even remember) what your first word(s) were as a baby? What were they? Or other amusing first/early kiddie facts of yourself? Haha. Had an interesting conversation with mother about me and my siblings as babies. Each of our first words, who walked/talked first/last, and such. It’s very amusing how they sort of match our personalities.
Me: Walked early, started reading earliest (2/3), last to start talking, first word(s) “mama/dad.”
Lil sis: Walked early, talked earliest, read early, first word(s) “shut up.”
Lil bro: Could never crawl and walked late, talked early, read early, first word “doughnut.”
Phhht.

Date: 2010-01-21 12:25 pm (UTC)Oh, first words? Mother says my first word was "Mama" which is probably true and probably goes for most babies. Once I found an old notebook in which my mother had written my first words and they were (in that order): Mama, Papa, Kette. There were some more words I don't remember, but these were the first three - I just don't know how the Kette (=chain or necklace) slipped in.

Date: 2010-01-21 01:46 pm (UTC)I've been told that I was a really early reader and that because I was obsessed with Sesame Street my first words were "Big Bird!" (In little kid dialect, of course.) "Daddy" came shortly after, lol. XD But when I was like two or three we lived in California and uh... I guess whenever I heard people speaking Spanish, my reaction was to call out "chico rico!" /dies ^^;;;; [Looking back on it I guess I was inadvertently calling them "rich guys" so it's not too horrible?]

Date: 2010-01-21 03:27 pm (UTC)My mother told me that I started talking so late that she was already worried about it -fails- Because I started walking and such so early but didn't say a word. And then my first words were: "I want ice cream!" because there was a sign for ice cream, and everyone was like wtf. XD I don't know if what this makes people think about me matches my personality though.
And there was this old type of car, Trabant, and whenever I couldn't sleep my parents had to put me in lol. Not even starting it or driving around, I just had to be in that car and I fell asleep immediately... weird.

Date: 2010-01-21 07:54 pm (UTC)Me: Walked early, started reading like everybody else (6) but had awesome spelling BD, first word "mamá," "agua." (water)

Date: 2010-01-22 09:55 pm (UTC)I'm sure I could have been an early reader if my parents had tried teaching me to read.

Date: 2010-01-21 08:59 pm (UTC)First words: "No way!" :D
My brother ran before really walking, fell all the time. His first word was "boogie", in an attempt to say "birdy". XD

Date: 2010-01-22 09:16 pm (UTC)Boogie=birdy is awesome too. XD

Date: 2010-01-21 09:03 pm (UTC)I'm not sure what my first words were, but I guess that they were 'mamma' (mama) and 'pappa' (dad). I think it was the same for my siblings too, although I can't say that I remember very well. I just know that I felt like they were very loud and crying all the time... especially during the nights when I wanted to sleep. ;; Oh, and my youngest sister used to say 'abooh' a lot, but that doesn't mean anything (or well, maybe it did to her, but we couldn't understand it).

Date: 2010-01-23 06:35 am (UTC)That's pretty normal~ Though, haha, that sucks your earliest memories are so unpleasant. xD;

Date: 2010-01-21 09:34 pm (UTC)And well... I'm not sure when you would consider I begun to properly talk because I babbled~ I had to get my frenulum cut but they didn't realize until I was 4 or something .:headdesk:. but my first work was "milk" because it would seem I was hungry >3

Date: 2010-01-21 09:42 pm (UTC)And hahahaha, doughnut is the best first word I've EVER heard of xDD
I don't remember any of mine or my siblings' first words, but I remember my sister being like..2 and not being able to say hamburger or hotdog. It always came out 'hockleburger' and 'hockledog', which is even harder to say than the original word, fffff.

Date: 2010-01-23 06:45 am (UTC)Ahaha, that is weird. Hockleburger is way harder to say. xD; Babies have an interesting thought process, lol.

Date: 2010-01-21 10:31 pm (UTC)My mum was always very dilligent about taking us for regular check-ups, and when the pediatrician saw my legs, she understandably asked why I had so many bruises... neither of my parents ever raised a hand against us but the pediatrician didn't know that. Luckily, my three sisters were there, and they answered in chorus: "because she keeps falling down!" They were rather annoyed with me because I kept falling over them when they were sitting on the floor playing quietly. XD

I love seeing works in progress! It fascinates me how a sketch can turn into something amazing. You know I love your art a lot, right? *__* &hearts
